Samsung's New Galaxy S III Phone Offers 4.8-Inch Screen, Siri-Like 'S Voice' Feature

Lots of ridiculous and ignorant posts in this thread from people who I can only guess have to bash the phone because they feel threatened for some silly reason. As someone that recently switched to Android for my phone and own a Samsung I can say that almost all of the digs are completely unfounded. Each phone and OS have great thing about them and limitations.

If another company has it...they copied it from Apple...but it is always inferior
Competition to Apple should just be squashed so that we can let Apple come up with all of the innovation we could ever need....because they know what we need and what's best for us.

Making the functioning of a product better and staying competitive isn't the same as build ad campaigns to poke fun at the products/company you blatantly imitate.

Example: This isn't their first time doing this either.

The Samsung with a case would just take it above
the size I want for a phone.

I hope this isn't the start for a new phase of bigger devices.

These gadgets are primarily phones after all.

I didn't put a case on my 4S. The two sided glass design is too beautiful to cover up IMO.

If i own an Android phone, i troll apple sites
I compare every Android phone to the iPhone and when it inevitably fails i say marketshare is the most important thing
i swear I'm an individual and not a sheep even though more people own Android phones then iphones

A store they are supposed to curate and while their execs get millions in compensation (because of course how could one replace a genius like Phil Schiller), even the newly hired bozo from dixons gets 60 mil, yet they can't afford to spend $100,000 around on the app store to actually curate a few worthy apps that are struggling to make money.

Notifications ripped from android, imessage to emulate blackberry, and a mobile os that looks the same after 6 years even on a device like the ipad. Wow, the innovation in that, you can't even add some live updates on you lock screen and you 're stuck with a big clock there...

If one cuts through the bs, and the branding, and the reality distortion field, for the past couple of years apple has been basically making boatloads of cash for doing pretty much nothing with their devices other than incremental bs updates. And on the desktop front with lion making things worse rather than better. Oh the ipad two added a camera, oh the air is redesigned so it doesn't have a **** latch and one usb and now it's smaller, oh the imac has a mirror glass that can't be used pretty much any conditions that involve outside light and it's the same crap in ergonomics like it always was and with the same design for 8 years, oh now we have icloud that doesn't offer online storage like everyone and their brother are offering, but hey you can match your tunes with apple (not stream them of course) for a premium.

Apple has jumped the shark, and it won't become apparent any time soon to most people, but in two years, a bit more, a bit less, and if in the process they don't manage to eat up, lawyer away, or monopolize away the competition with anticompetitive practices, they 'll get what's coming to them for having lost their spirit and become an obese, money greedy giant.

So phones like the HTC One X are crap too because HTC doesn't make it's own displays? You know who makes Samsung products? China. That's where all the rare earth metals from :rolleyes:

So what if Apple didn't make all the apps in the Apps Store? Apple is responsible for providing an SDK that works and a stable ecosystem where developers can have an equal chance to make an app with low overhead costs. Also, providing a smooth OS that people like to use increases the market developers can sell their apps to. It's not like Samsung made their own operating system.

About the $10,000 iTunes card... You jelly? If Apps are 'worthy' people will find it.

Progress happens in increments. You would rather they gather up all their 'incremental' upgrades and roll it up as one update in 2014 just so you can call it revolutionary?

Your Kool-Aid seems to be that you don't acknowledge when something is almost a blatant copy, all the way down to the name. That's what most of us in here are paying attention to. I don't care if they improve the hardware for the same phone 3-4 times per year to keep their sales decent. I have issues with what I posted earlier and this: http://www.tuaw.com/2011/09/28/no-comment-proof-that-samsung-shamelessly-copies-apple/ Or I have issues with companies that change a product release date they previously set until after Apple holds the WWDC/Macworld/Any other Apple event. Tell me that they don't look at Apple as a target to compete against and therefore mimic the features and I'll back off.

Not to burst your bubble, but I'm a Blackberry user and own Apple products such as the iPad. It never ceases to amaze me how people always have their blinders on or their rose colored glasses.

That phone with the associated specs dwarfs the iPhone 4S. The size is a little big, but it's an amazing smart phone in my opinion. Glad that Samsung is putting some pressure on Apple. I still will probably stick with the iPhone for some time to come. But this phone makes me think twice and drool.

Actually I own a Blackberry phone and several Apple products. My post is aimed at so many posters that find it necessary to put down every other competitors product and try and compare it's perceived faults to their beloved perfect iPhone.
As Blackberries recent secret ad campaign tried to point out to Apple iSheep.........Wake Up!

You dont get it?? Google create and releases Android OS to the public and thats it. Google doesnt dictate which phone or devices gets the updates. Android is a open-source OS like Linux and people or companies can do what they please with it. Thats what so awsome about Android compared to other OS's . Maybe you should appreciate your choices that is available to you. IOS devices are nice but some people prefer Android or other types of mobile OS's

Then why is Google insisting that oems update their devices in a timely manner (even though that doesn't help).

Don't act like Google just releases Android and doesn't care that only 4 percent of users have ics...like that was their intention...:rolleyes:

I have to disagree. The engineers at Apple have it right. They control the hardware, software, and connectivity options, ensuring that everything works flawlessly. If I really want to tweak something, I will buy a Windows PC. I just want the options that are offered to work flawlessly. Apple outperforms with their robust iOS.
