This thread proves history does repeat itself. It's the "Mac vs. PC" gang war all over again. It's so silly, especially with the use of anecdotes and personal preferences used as proof of something meaningful. Apple, Samsung, Moto, HTC are going to make the phone that exploits their respective business model. There is plenty of room in this market for everyone and all sorts of designs. Why are people so angry over a phone?

S3 is ugly... has no personality.... here is some advice tko samsung...

1. stop using android make your own mobile OS that is as silky smooth at IOS but as feature full as android
2. Get at least 500,000 apps into your own apps tore that you control like apple.
3. STOP COPYING EVERYTHING APPLE DOES!!!!! MAKE YOUR OWN COOL NOW STUFF THAT WORKS WELL AND EASY
4. SPEND MORE ON THE HARDWARE DESIGN AADN QUALITY OF MATERIALS
5. make the galaxy your only phone and make it perfect as possible and only release 1 per year.

That would contradict point number 3!

So, the answer is - No. Apple did not invent the stores (or MP3 player, or mobile phone or a tablet computer or multi-touch interface).

You're right - they didn't invent any of those, they just grabbed the idea and made it better. There's nothing wrong with that.

It truly amazes me how much hate you have confined for Apple. Every post of yours reeks of it. I wonder what they ever did to you?

The copying never stops. Nor does the cheap plastic plastic casing. Well done, Samsung, well done for charging 500+ USD for a premium phone wrapped in some random plastic FisherPrice cover.

Premium FisherPrice, actually. This is a $10 cover, not no cheap $5 cover you saw on the Nexus 1. Oh no, we've moved up in the world.

You have a point here. I think the thing people hate about Samsung is that they copy WITHOUT making it better.

If Apple copies something, they tend to improve it and make it better so in the end it doesn't even look like the original.

I am not sure that having 2x RAM, 2x storage, 2x CPU cores, 4G, NFC, HD resolution etc. is a subjective thing.

Those specs are obviously not subjective. I can't deny that.

I meant the OS itself, for example. Perhaps you prefer the Android interface or what it allows you to do, but that doesn't mean that others can't like the iOS better. That doesn't make them less smart than Android users.

Apple will eventually bring out a 4" screen.
I do believe you are correct, although Apple is trailing the others by years in uptake of popular features.

Why give us the latest, when they can make so much more money, by recycling the same old 3.5"? At a time when the two finest phones (HTC One X, Samsung S III) have the very innovative 4.7" / 4.8" displays.

Apple has already convinced the masses that it makes no difference. They're nothing if not clever when it comes to profit taking.

You first confirm that all the facts that I mentioned were correct and then call it "hate". Truth can't be hate, don't you think? It may hurt some fanboys who then might think that it's "hate" but this has nothing to do with me.

If you were Samsung you would

If I were getting my butt handed to me by Apple? Nah, I'd just admit defeat and try other ways to outmaneuver Apple. The companies I respect the most are the ones that recognize when they are being outplayed and spanked. Heck, Apple has bent Samsung over, broken its back, and made it humble.

This is true. Ihaters love to say "Apple didn't invent so and so" when the truth is very few people claim that they did. But apple is the one that makes things better, and makes things popular.

I love how proud Android users are of nfc. The only thing they can do with it is buy burgers. When/if Apple introduces an iPhone with nfc, all other companies will start to adopt it.

Apple doesn't do alot of inventing. But they know how to make products people want, and add features that everyone else copies.

Have you not read the thread? Accusations of copying are thrown about between every other breath around here.

There's a difference between saying copying and that Apple invented something. Anyone who says that svoice (haha) is not inspired or straight up ripped off from siri is in severe denial!

Yes, voice actions existed before Siri, no Apple didn't invent it, but yes Apple made the concept popular and Samsung is using what they made popular to create svoice. Again, there's nothing wrong with copying, but why be in denial about it?

Because people want good alternatives, not lesser products based off a "me2" design. This isn't competition. A lesser product for the same price? Puuuleeeeze [black female version].

The local cache is my biggest request. I don't think it should be necessary to wait for "call my wife" to get analyzed somewhere else.

There is a (poor) workaround. If you disable Siri the phone will revert back to the pre-4S voice command. :(

Unlike many other phones, Samsung phone design allows for the use of a bigger battery. Thicker battery comes with a different back panel.

Unfortunately, at least in the USA, it appears most of the Galaxy SII extended batteries add significant and ugly bulges to the phone. There's an official Samsung extended battery for international cellphones that only slightly increases the thickness without any bulging and so forth. IMO that's how the phone should have originally been designed but everybody wants the thinnest phone out there.

All I'm saying is that, whether you realize it or not, your posts sometimes come out as sounding a little like you're hurt about something.

Please don't mix the facts. I said you were right in that they didn't invent those things. The hate part comes from all your posts in general, not just this one.

It's the tit for tat copying/innovation thing that always goes on between Android and Apple fans.

Apple fan laughs and claim Google copied X for Android without really knowing the history behind the technology, Android fan gets defensive and makes a huge list showing where similar technologies have been used long beforehand shortly before closing out his argument with something like "olol use a real phone iSheep", then some guy posts up a picture of the Samsung Store and a , and it goes on from there.

It ebbs and flows like a river, man.

So what this thread really says is...

Apple Perfect in every way
Everything else .... too big, too clunky, not pretty, no one likes it, lame

QFT. This board - and thread - would make a great "study." The anger is laughable.

A reminder. It's a phone.

And if you don't want it/like it - don't buy it. Also amusing is how sore people are about who did what first and the like. It's as if all of these other manufactures are coming into your homes and stealing your money and belongings. Get over it already.
