You remind me a lot of a poster that was banned from here. You keep insisting that I'm upset. I'm not. I'm at my desk here at work smiling and enjoying my day and reading this thread. I never said svoice had anything to do or not to do with siri. But feel free to put words into my mouth (or posts) if it makes you feel better.

Clearly no one's going to convince you or anyone else on this thread anything other than what they believe. Disagree with me all you want. But again - don't keep making the stupid and ignorant assumption that I'm upset about it. It just make you look like you're trying to pick a fight.

Now go ahead. Reply back and tell me how upset I still sound and how I need to relax LOL

Hey! all guys here, please relax. Why don't we go to take a lunch first, drop s h i t and then come back to discuss again???

I already said im not going to argue with you but you keep hanging on the issue. We both have our opinions and we're both entitled to it. I specifically said in my experience that i thought Android users are worse, and I even disclosed i was biased because i own shares.

I'm neither stupid or ignorant. You keep hanging on things that i don't want to dwell on. please don't insult me again.

No, I didn't know, hence why I'm asking if you meant "Natural language processing". Because that would make sense. As far as I know, Siri is the first implementation of natural language processing on a cellphone for actions.

If i said svoice is a copy of siri, then yes that's what i meant. I didn't mean the old voice recognition protocols from yesteryear

This is actually the first non-Apple phone that made me take a second look since the iPhone !

I like the LARGER SCREEN, CURVED BODY (that fits better in the hand than the boxy iPhone), and I like the option for PEN INPUT very much.

Are you listening Apple ?

I hope not:)

Google/Samsung < Apple < Company in the future that will copy both of them and do it better (aka: innovate).

This new GS3 phone kind of reminds me of the original t-mobile sidekick. I always though that thing was lame and very cheap feeling.

I do like the bigger screen and such, but at some point how big is too big. I think this GS3 may be too big. It looks like a brick and I already have some issues with how big my Iphone 4 is in my pocket.....much bigger and its going to be to annoying.

Just my opinion

The GS3 makes this cat look small.

I have to disagree, but then I am concerned about functionality and quality more than aesthetics.

Sorry, your reply got lost in the huge and noisy cat fighting that has been going on for nearly a day now. It's a little late but here it is...

Fair enough. My personal opinion is that, overall, the iPhones quality and functionality is superior. I wouldn't change much to how Apple presents additional pages in the homescreen, however, they can stand to make some tweaks. Page one definitely can stand the addition of widgets somewhat like the Android (although maybe with eating up less screen real estate). I wouldn't even add the silly old fashioned looking chronometer clock, just a simple clock like the lock screen with weather and other options (maybe separate out the current weather and forecast so the notification center shows forecast and home screen shows current weather). Hell, even if the weather app showed the temperature on the icon in real time, that would be an improvement!

The lock screen could use some improvement as well. Right now, if I want to glance at the weather, I have to unlock my phone and pull down the notification screen. Why can't I just wake up the phone and glance at it without unlocking? I'm not always in a position to do more than slip my phone out of my pocket and glance at it. It would be nice if I could see the weather (and/or forecast) among other things without unlocking. Someone in this thread posted a neat mockup of what the lock screen could look like. Didn't appear to change the function or quality significantly, but did add a lot to the aesthetics and usability.

These are just some minor (and, I would assume, relatively easy from a coding perspective) tweaks to make that would not take away (and even improve) the quality and function while at the same time improving the aesthetics.

Believe me, I am a big believer in the old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" I wouldn't be asking for these if I thought it was change merely for the sake of change. I just think the first page of the home screen and the lock screen could use some updating.

Ok, so that was probably more than you wanted to read, but there it is. :)

I'm sorry, but I keep reading comments about this feature, as if it was something actually useful. What is the fascination with this gimmick?

My phone has never timed out and gone to sleep while I was reading a single page, it's a phone, how long does it take to read everything displayed on a small screen?

Not so much on my iPhone, but definitely my iPad has timed out while I was looking at it. Particularly as Apple pushes textbooks and other content, they may want to incorporate a feature like this.

Some of the things Samsung launched today:

  • S Voice
  • S Cloud
  • Scan and Match
  • Display sharing
  • S Pebble
  • Retail stores

In other news, Apple has had these for awhile:

  • Siri
  • iCloud
  • iTunes Match
  • AirPlay
  • iPod Shuffle
  • Retail stores

Just so you know. Siri is a ripoff from googles voice everyone knows that.. Its à norwegian who made it as an app for iPhone and Apple bought it. Still a ripoff tough..

Its time for apple to increase the iphone screen size to at least a 4". I watch a lot of videos on my phone and a larger screen would be great! I love my iphone but that larger screen is calling me lol. I know a lot of people like the compact size of the iphone but maybe they can make 2 iphone 5s one with the 3.5" screen and another with a 4.5" screen or figure out away to increase the screen size with out increasing the size of the phone. Just my thoughts.

The quality, depth and breath of patents issued to Apple post 2007 is at a supreme high bar.

I suggest you read the preliminary judgement from the judge presiding over the Apple/Samsung patent dispute in federal court. The stuff they tried to put on Samsung was complete crap (like rounded corners on a mobile device... supreme high bar there ) and Samsung responded with patents related to data and messaging that would turn your iPhone into a brick if Apple hadn't infringed.

But I'm guessing she doesn't know patents either. Awful post man.... 1.5/10 is being generous.

Yes, you realize i said many times it doesn't matter who invented it, right? Apple made it popular.

Popular is a stretch... I have a hard time seeing something as popular when the comments I hear in person about it are 4/1 negative. Anyways, I guess Android made notifications popular then, shame Apple couldn't come up with their own, better implementation.

Ok, here are the stats on this thread so far...

33% think the iPhone's 3.5" screen is just right and the Samsung is too big, cheap, etc etc...

33% think the iPhone is too small and think the Samsung is nice, awesome, brilliant, etc etc...

33% think everyone rips everyone elses tech off and that Apple, Samsung, Microsoft and every company in the whole damn world rips off from their favorite company regardless of who really invented the technology.

Everyone knows it was Ben Franklin who was ripped off because he discovered electricity, so there! :p

1% think we're all ********** insane, roll their eyes and go back to playing solitaire on their computers.

I say, lets call the whole damn thing off, close the thread and move on with our lives.

You may now throw rotten fruit at me.

And Samsung stores too, I wonder where they got that idea from?

Apple wasn't the first tech company to open it's own retail location. For one, Gateway Computers opened their retail locations years before the first Apple store. So, I guess they got the idea from the same place Apple did... business school.
