So far wireless charging is just a gimmick. If I use wired charging I can hold my phone and use it, with so called wireless charging, the phone has to sit on a charging pad, making it awkward to use, so not really a clever thing so far. Water proofing is certainly something to boast about, though it took me almost 30 minutes to kill an iPhone 5s in hot soapy water. SD expansion is something I have never missed, to be honest I wish Apple would get their way to get rid of SIM cards as well, fewer moving parts mean fewer problems.

No. It's far from a gimmick. Maybe not useful to you - but I find it extremely useful.

Keeping design for 2 years... Just like iPhone.

Well.. I just realized they can't copy the iPhone 7 design yet.

Its going to be hard for Samsung to convince customers they ARENT just copying 3D touch. Any ideas for what they will call it or how they will make it seem different from 3D Touch on iPhone? Any unique feature of the sensitive display?

I think they will just call it "pressure sensitive display" personally.

Apple shamelessly copied force touch from BlackBerry though and phablet from Samsung otherwise iPhones would still be 3.5".

SurePress istn't even remotely similar to 3D Touch (the whole display is one (1) button) and it's funny how people always think that Samsung invented "large phones".
Dell had a 5" phone with the Dell Streak 5 which was released the same day that Samsung released their 4" Galaxy S phone in 2010.
FFS, HTC released their 4.3" phone HTC HD2 (Windows Mobile) more than half a year before the 4" Galaxy S.

Resolution beyond what the eye can detect is only a paper marketing ploy and a drain on resourses .

Yes, luckily we are far from there. The difference between the 6S and the Galaxy S6 is huge. Speaking of a marketing ploy, you didn't actually believe the Retina display claim right?

But it was the Note line that really did the big screen right. They weren't the first but were definitely the best (basically the same logic that iFans use with iPhone and a lot of its features) Note line popularized the big screen phone. And it if it wasn't for the success of the Note, there wouldn't be a iPhone Plus and the iPhone would still be 3.5in. I love my iPhone as much as the next Apple fan but I also give credit where it's due.

Some of y'all wanna say everybody copies Apple, as if Apple doesn't copy (or get "inspired") by other products. iOS 7 and 8 ripped off a crap load of android features. iPhone Plus exists b/c of the success of the big screen phone, which was popularized by Samsung. You even have the iPad Pro, which clearly got inspired by the much better Surface Pro. Hell even Samsung had a bigger screen Note and Tab Pro. But of course that's not Apple copying. Yet had Apple come out with iPad Pro and 2 years later Microsoft had the Surface Pro, everybody would've been like "El Oh El...Microsoft copying Apple!"

Like I said, I give credit where it's due. Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, ect all contribute and continue to contribute to various tech advances. Can't wait for the S7 to come out. I'm sure it'll be as awesome as the S6. I'm also looking forward to the G5 and of course the iPhone 7. This should be an awesome year for mobile tech.

They didn't invent large phones, they made them ubiquitous. (How many did Dell and HTC sell?)
Kinda like the iPhone and the touch screen....

Please understand. It's a gimmick until apple employs it. Then it is no longer a gimmick. It is also not Apple copying. It is Apple evolving. Again. /s

That's why there's Root. :)
It's been ages since I rooted an android phone. Are you still at the mercy of some guy (or team) making a custom firmware for your device? I have a Moto x for work and have no real reason to root because it's as stock as android gets without actually being stock. But years ago, root didn't mean much unless someone was actively working on a build of android for your specific hardware. Cyanogen is generally what I chose to go with.

Shameless as always, not only did they steal iPhone's existing flagship feature, they even stole the features RUMORED for the next iPhone.

This makes me happy, because ball's in Apple's court now. They have to up their game or lose market share. Winner: me (consumer). :D

Oh yes be proud to be a [consumer] You really think you are winning in this equation? Care to compare you bank account with Apples?

Point here: [consumers] never win, [producers] do. [producers] like Apple sell to [consumers] like you.

You mean like Apple renamed their system to "3D Touch" because Huawei had a phone with "force touch" first? :p

You mean like when Huawei not only copied the tech but ripped the name straight from the apple watch force touch

Seriously though I think it was renamed 3d touch because it has the ability to detect between a tap, medium press for "peek" and harder press for "pop" while the apple watch force touch is only a tap and press

iPhone 6 looks ugly...

Samsung notorious for copy pasting...

New Samsung phone

still looks ugly...

WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?

The Edge is the worse design in use that I have come across in a long time. The screen is bent, distorting everything you see at the edges. I used it for about three months before returning it and getting the Note 5 (mainly because it takes better photos than the current iPhone).

I am curious to see the camera on the new Samsungs and I sure hope that it's great and that it pushes Apple to deliver an even better camera on the iPhone 7.

Resolution beyond what the eye can detect is only a paper marketing ploy and a drain on resourses .

"Retina" is not a single value. Not being able to discern pixels depends on screen resolution and distance... and the individual viewer.

You see, Apple used the common definition of "print quality" (300dpi at 12") as their starting point for "retina". Even that resolution only applies to "average eyes". People with better vision will still be able to discern pixels at that distance, and often do.

Moreover, the closer you get to the display, the smaller the pixels need to be. And vice versa. For example, if a display is a football field length away, pixels an inch across ( 1 PPI ) qualify as "retina". But at only six inches from your eyes, it requires 600 PPI to be retina, not just the 300 at a foot away.

Force Touch on the 2015 Macbook Pro can also detect multiple pressure levels.

The only thing that I am somewhat disappointed about on my new iPhone 6s is the screen and it's something that Samsung will always reign superior with their smartphones.

Their super pixel-dense OLED displays are gorgeous to look at.

And with the rumored pressure sensitivity, higher resolution and improved brightness, the S7 will undoubtedly have the best smartphone display this year, beating the iPhone 6s, and, most likely, the iPhone 7.

I just wish Apple would step up their display game. 750p and LED are just unacceptable in 2016. Don't get me wrong, 326 ppi is not bad, but it's not good either.

What are you talking about?
Samsung's SAMOLED is freaking awful with over-saturated colors and color shift. Not to mention burn-in problem all over the place.

Samsung truly has no shame. Whatever novel little feature Apple adds to their iPhone, Samsung adds it to the next Galaxy a few months later. Don't be surprised if rose gold is suddenly a new galaxy flagship color as well.

iPhone: Siri
Samsung: S Voice

iPhone 5S: Touch ID (gold color)
Samsung: fingerprint reader (new gold flagship color)

iPhone 6: Apple Pay, larger 5.5" flagship 'Plus' model released alongside standard size
Samsung: Samsung Pay, Larger flagship 'Plus' model released

iPhone 6s: 3D "force touch"
Samsung: Pressure sensitive screen

These guys are like a mass producing duplication line. Have they ever innovated anything as a company? Whatever happened to those failed air gestures that they "innovated"? I've never seen such a large company who repeatedly mimics the market leader. I get that Apple is making most of the money and it's natural to follow their lead but Samsung just takes it to a different level.

I believe is true. Let's face it Apple and Samsung may have their lawsuits going on and off. At the end of the day those two companies are working together!!

lol.
Samsung, you have terrible software. Also, you don't update your devices for long. cyanogenmod is and will be better then any touchwiz **** you can put out. Also, you lost your fanbase with that **** you pulled. Getting isheep to buy your **** shows how much you really care about your users.

Thanks for the good laugh buddy.cyanogen used to be the head software engineer at Samsung and was the leader in building the touchwiz framework.
