Anyone worried about security after your devices are delivered or after pick up?

I'm concerned about someone following me to my car after I pickup in store. I plan on keeping my 6 plus on the down low for a while. I mostly rock my devices naked but this time I bought a case that covers the back completely. I am also planning to use my BT headset more often to keep the device in my bag.

My first thought though is making it from the store to my car without incident. I don't have anyone to go with me to pickup so I am concerned.

Not me....Iphone 6 Plus doubles as a good club! Plus, there's an App you can use that will shot its 1080p pixels at the attacker!

Activate your phone in-store and turn on find-my iphone - not that the chances of someone stealing your new phone are that high but at least you might catch them if they do.

But honestly if you are worried about it take the phone out of the box and put it in your pocket. Put the box back in the bag and hold onto it lightly and walk to your car.

This way if a thief does make you into a target the most they are going to get is a box (it's like a craigslist scam where you think you're buying an ipad but it's really an ipad box full of post it notes).

The thief won't know his error until you are long gone.

Don't worry about everyone else. Its your right to worry, and nothing wrong with worrying.

Can you get a friend or someone to come along?

If not ask an apple store employee or a mall cop to walk out with you. Also, walking out with a group is always another option.

If you are going at night, I would bring someone with you if your concerned.

In the middle of the day, the worry is less.

I'm going to take the day off probably & go middle of the day. I've learned if things feel hinky follow my instincts.

I feel hinky about going so early with only the Apple store open. And if I go later I can hit up Teavana for some tea. :D

Since it's a 6plus I figured I'd put it in my bra! I don't think it fit in my pocket!!!

As a woman too I agree with this. Or some of the others who said bring someone with you.

i am paranoid about that too...my father is police officer and he is coming with me to get his.

My little brother (6'5 300 lbs) was a cop. When I told him I was doing in store pickup he got concerned. But he lives in another state & can't come with.

Sounds like a plan. Suggestions on types of soup? I think a nice minestrone or lentil? What do you think?

I think black beans are more dense. Maybe go with that. As for the spoon, may I suggest a long handled tea spoon? You'll get more leverage with each wallop.

lol wow can't be sure if some are you are serious...

I believe that's what makes it fun. It also makes it enlightening!

LOL But to be sure, black beans are really more dense. So my can of soup sock will be black bean.

Wow, I get the feeling that we live in the same city and go to the same Apple store. What I have done in the past is put the phone in my purse and walk out. I take a rambling route through the mall back to my car. I usually have pepper spray on me but will also hold a key in my fist extended out. That way if someone approaches to attack, you punch them in the eye and the key will go in the eye.

I don't mess around.

Ok, maybe we don't go to the same mall. I don't know of an Asian bistro but who knows (I am in ATL). Anyways, I can't pick up on the 19th due to Apple's screw up. I am in the second batch and mad about it (first time since the 3G that I didn't get release day).

I think the frenzy of a launch causes people to lose perspective. People regularly walk around with jewelry and watches that are far more valuable, and vastly easier to pawn, than your shiny new iphone. I get it, its new, exclusive and you stayed up all night to order it (I know I did). But unless you're waving it around in a particularly unsavory neighborhood (far away from an apple store), you're no more likely to get robbed than a little old lady having her purse snatched.

I've bought things worth way more than an iPhone at a mac store. I wouldn't really be worried.

Chances are, those things you bought aren't nearly as small or easy to steal as an iPhone.

Apple doesn't have stores in ghettos.

True, but that doesn't keep ghetto people, thugs and hoodlums from hanging out around the area.

There's an apple store in DC in the really nice neighborhood of Georgetown. People get jacked there all the time for their full size macs and iPhones alike (so I assume as I don't go there often but have seen two snatch and grabs in broad daylight).

Put it in a different bag and bring pepper spray. Better than carrying a weapon into the store as some people are advising.

Pepper spray is not effective, and there is nothing, NOTHING, wrong with carrying a concealed weapon as long as you are complying with all local laws.

My brother was a cop. When I told him about in store pickup he was concerned. He said to activate In store too. I wasn't planning on it but now I think I will. Thanks.

I live in Naperville, IL and it is a very nice area and People have had their Apple bags taken from them. It is a concern.

:)

FYI...guess which store in downtown Naperville has had its glass doors smashed and the tables cleared after/before hours!

Apple Store: Great Marketing Bad Security

:(

If youre that scared just have it shipped to your home.

You seem a bit racist this Saturday morning.

Stay classy!

Ditto.

Last year in Houston near the Galleria people were camped out early to buy the 5S. A few guys rolled up and held the line up at gunpoint and robbed all of them taking their existing iPhones, iPads, and wallets.

Right because crime in the ghetto isn't higher than elsewhere. That's not racist, that's logical.

I didn't know Wall st. Was in the ghetto.

More crimes are committed on Wall st than the 'ghetto' they just don't get caught.
