Sept 20th orders with October ship date, Apple.com buyers. [MERGED]

64 GB Space Gray iPhone 5s ordered 3:30 am Sept 20 with an initial delivery date of Oct 8 - 11.

Order status has been "Processing for shipment" since Tuesday with Oct 8 - 11 delivery estimate.

Today it's still being processed for shipment, but the date has slipped to Oct 15 - 17 due to unexpected delays.

Are they having problems in manufacturing?

I have a UPS tracking number and estimated delivery for Thursday.

Thanks for the update. And damn. Mine's been preparing for shipment since yesterday morning... still hasn't changed to shipped. Your order was 1 minute before mine :p

I'm really surprised that an order for Space Gray 64gb ordered at 3:30am on launch day hasn't shipped (is it "preparing for shipment" or "processing"?)

Based on some other posts I've seen, it could be a problem processing payment --or one post I saw said they found out their order was being held up because there was an unpaid past-due balance on their cellular account.

Either way, I'd give Apple a call to see if they have additional info on what's holding up your order. I think that particular model should have shipped by now.
 
My email from Apple says my phone will be delivered Oct. 9th, but it arrived in Hong Kong 90 minutes ago... it just might be delivered on Monday. Makes me even more excited :D

This is day 15 for me. I seriously didn't expect to be waiting this long, considering that I ordered on the morning of launch day. But it was my first time participating in an iPhone launch so I guess I hadn't done my research about when the best time to order is.

I've just been biding the time by looking at iPhone 5 cases and accessories. :):p

Same here. I'm upset as hell, that I'm not typing this from my 5s. :D

When I saw "October", I though it will have been on its way here by now. Already got myself a case, now I just need a Gold 5s to put inside of it.:)

As soon as possible is always the best time to order, it's just a matter of whether you can get away with not staying up until 3am if you're east coast.


I've got a launch day order for a 16gb sprint gold but didn't place the order until late into the evening so I'm expecting about another week wait.

God forbid it takes another week... at that pace, Apple will have to be simultaneously producing 5s and the 6.

Or maybe if it takes that long, they might offer us the choice of the newer device ;)
 
I found something not good

I made an order in Sep.20 with a 16GB gold one, and one of my friends ordered at Sep.26 , and the same model. but today she told me her order changed from processing to prepare for shipment.....

We are in the same city....what is wrong with Apple.......

I am waiting as well, also since the 20th. I have a case waiting on mine when it finally does show up. In the meantime I got an IPAD mini and a 58inch LCD to help me through this "ordeal." :D Hurry up :apple: "Ice is getting impatient", quote from Top Gun. :)

Same here when I saw October I thought it would shop around the first Wed in October. I already have a case for my gold 5S but it hasn't even shipped. I'm getting so impatient ugh

For those people who already got the preparing for shipment email. What times are you getting the email at Morning, Afternoon, or Evening?!

The is a little more hope out there. Looks like apple really did ramp up production and is getting these things out soon.

I don't think there is a "preparing for shipment" e-mail-- I think you just get an e-mail when the order actually ships. You just see "preparing for shipment" by obsessively checking your order status :D

For example, mine changed around 11am MDT yesterday (10am pacific). Still has not changed to "shipped".

As far as when I thought it would ship... this is pretty close. I took the "October" ship estimate to mean "after the 7-10 business day" estimate for orders placed before mine. So if you count the 20th as one of those business days... day 10 would be October 3. My status changed on October 4, like clockwork (though to be fair, my order went through just a few minutes after Apple's ship estimates changed to "October" from "7-10 business days".)

Your SIM card in your 4s is a larger size than in the 5s and will not fit. Your phone should come with a SIM card.

What's the point of buying a Gold to put a case on it? As ugly as the Gold is of course... (even though it's more of a lightweight piss yellow.)
