Sept 20th orders with October ship date, Apple.com buyers. [MERGED]

And just because I have a case, doesn't mean it's going to be on 24/7
Reason I am buying is because the gold ring around the home button looks 100x better than the other two colors.
Based upon the fact that people who ordered their iPhones on launch day are just now being notified that their iPhone has shipped, would it be safe for me to assume that the iPhone I ordered last night at 12:09 AM should ship by October 21, 2013? Also, it states that the beige case I ordered to match the gold iPhone 5S won't ship until October 22, 2013 - October 29, 2013. Is there a reason that it is going to take this long for a case? Is t possible that I may get the iPhone before the case?
Hmm... let me guess... you bought the manly, garden variety space gray? Which Apple couldn't call a much more manly "gunmetal"?

Don't think there is even a snowball's chance in hell, that that happens. I could walk into any Apple Retail Store (or similar) and purchase the beige (or any colour for that matter) case. They're not having supply issues with cases.
Whatever floats your boat. Just don't rain on people's parade for no reason. Just because I purchased a case, doesn't mean I will use it all the time.
There is not a single iPhone 5S or iPhone 5S case in the city that I live in, so I thought that there may be a shortage. Do you think my calculations of when my iPhone should ship are accurate?
I'm guessing that the launch day orders will probably be shipped out in the coming days/week and you'll probably see yours about the 3rd week in October like you're guessing.
That's really odd... do you live in the US (regarding the cases)? Regarding the phone, it really depends. If by the 11th (upcoming friday) Apple has shipped all orders up to about September 28th... then you may see yours by October 21. However, if by upcoming friday they only reach maybe the 23-25th... then that might be unrealistic.
As deflating as it is to hear (believe me, I and many others know), Apple may just very well use every day of the month. Your phone could ship on the 31st, for all we know.
Sadly, I believe that will be the case. I just have a crappy feeling that if your ship date is "October" it very well may be the end of Oct. just a gut feeling, hope its not true.
You're not the only one. As the days drag on, with only marginal progress, I was beginning to think that as well. If orders made on launch weekend are shipped at the end of October, I will leave a nasty and offensive complaint with Apple. This will be the last time I ever order anything online from them. They know to stock the stores and carriers, but don't know how to respect the online customer.

I think the suggestion is that (gold) phones ordered last night may well ship by the end of the month. I would be very surprised if that were the case for a launch weekend order.
My current thinking is:
If you order one today, and it ships in October, that's a max wait of about 25 days. At that rate anyone who ordered on launch day should see something happen within the next week or so.

My fear is because there has been so little movement with launch day ships, I just don't want the "October" ship date to slip to November, especially the Golds !
God i cant wait until these 20th orders are over with..WTF lets start seeing some 21st on a regular basis already..

Not saying it will happen... more than likely it won't. Like I said, if such a thing happened, I would be livid. Just saying so... because technically Apple's still at 3:30- 4:30PDT?
That's still a just a few hours into launch morning... just over 2 weeks later.

I agree. That's what I did with my black case to match my space grey phone (which I don't simply because I prefer looking at a black phone face than a white one and the black case seemingly blends in with it all).
I was able to go into the Hong Kong IFC Apple Store and pick one right off the shelf. Even got lucky and found someone to check it out right away (which almost never happens in that store!). They had plenty of stock for all 5S cases as well as plenty of the 5C cases.
It's ok, don't worry about it.
To each their own, after all this is a free country. Originally I wanted the Space Gray model. When I saw "October" for all three models I decided on Gold. If I had to wait, might as well get the colour that's the talk of the town.
