Sept 20th orders with October ship date, Apple.com buyers. [MERGED]

At this point, I'm expecting more bad news.

when I click the link to my order, I get "Something went wrong with your request. Please try again later." that sounds AWFUL :(

Or... Apple could be updating the statuses of potentially a few million people. They just disabled the system, so that: a) nothing would get leaked and b) (should there have been a leak) it will prevent a massive surge of people refreshing their order page, and potentially crashing the system.

Of course, the most explainable reason... is just that they shut it down for maintenance. Let's hope it's not that.:p

At this point, I'm not surprised. Im upgrading from an Iphone 4. It's 3 years old and is on its last limb. IT HAS BEEN 16 days since ordering. :(((((

Good thing they don't charge us for the phone, till it ships. Apple could have just given us the giant middle finger, and made off with our money. LOL JK:D

Apple Activation Server has also been reported to be down. Isn't it a coincidence?
 
I'll just finish my last beer, watch another episode of buffy, and check my order status one more time before passing out/crying into my pillow. :(
 
Day 15 of processing (10th business day). Went from "processing" to "status unavailable". Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo (that's right, I just went there):p

I look at this page being down in two ways:

Positively: Yes, if our statuses all say "shipped" or at least "preparing", I will be happy and somewhat happy. The only questions are: why did Apple wait till now? and why do it in such shady fashion?

Negatively: This is just another black eye to Apple's PR and another black mark in my books, regarding them. If indeed this "unavailable" status continues for more than a day (or two), and afterwards we are all pushed back to November, I just might pull the plug on my order.

But not before blasting Apple for their lack of transparency.

They sent me one, I blasted them for launching early, and not having enough phones to last 10 min. They called me and left a voicemail asking to talk to me.

LOL give them hell. :D

I just completed my survey, and gave them a generally poor score as well. Hopefully I'll get the chance to speak to someone.:D
