Walked into Best Buy Friday. They had the model I wanted, so I cancelled my "October" apple.com order and walked out much happier 15 minutes later.
"I want to file an official complaint" are the dirtiest words to use in customer service. They have no choice but to placate you, once you use those words.
Just to be sure... it was the 1-800-MYAPPLE number, right?

I ordered through Apple.com on Sept 26 and my phones shipped this morning, estimated delivery Oct. 10 by 8pm.
Ordered a gold unlocked 32GB model today. I'm assuming by 'October' is means 'October 2014'
