If it's any consolation to anyone, yesterday I called up Apple and complained bitterly. In an official complaint, I brought up all the frustrations/concerns we all share. The rep was extremely pleasant, and easy to talk to. He said that (while he can't, and won't and promise anything) we should see movement by week's end. The complaint will be forwarded to management, and he said that someone may want to contact me, regarding the complaint.
It doesn't make me feel anymore confident... but at least it's better than the crap they have been serving up previously.
P.S. I was able to get a complimentary case.
Thanks for the info. I'll continue to check like I have been and hopefully, this device will be shipped by Friday. 3 weeks will be long enough for me. Have a good day !
