Sept 20th orders with October ship date, Apple.com buyers. [MERGED]

So I'll be patient and hopefully receive a shipping confirmation email by at least 10/21/13. Anything sooner would be awesome!

But considering I'm reading comments with people still waiting who ordered on launch day... It doesn't look like I'll be that lucky.

Like I said I'm being patient considering I ordered a week after launch... The only way I'll be a little pissed is if Apple waits until 10/31 to ship my phone. :p

At the glacial pace they're moving at, my order probably won't ship till the 31st. I ordered on the 22nd.
 
Relax people there was a national holiday last week, now production is most likely back to full volume.

Again seeing how if I was to order today and still ship in October, that tells me by the end of October orders will be back to 1-3 days. Apple will catch up over the next two weeks.

I'm at 8:44am eastern (20th) for a 16gb gold AT&T. I think my phone will ship the end of this week.

I think by the end of next week all orders placed on the 20th will be shipped. Leaving them to catch up on the 21st-now orders which are combined no where near launch day numbers.

I bet if someone places an order today, they only wait 3 weeks to get their phone, where if mine does ship Friday, it could be the 20th before I get it, and I will have had to wait 4 weeks.

Received a Charge Notification from my Credit Card company at 1:00pm Eastern Time today (about half an hour ago).

Up until now no change in status (still Processing), even though all other items on the order changed status right after I received the Charge Notification from my CC company.

UPDATE: Status was just changed to "Preparing for Shipment".

Available to Ship is still "October".

I bet your ships around the 25th, and you will not wait as long as myself and others for gold that placed them on launch day.
 
I called apple today for the second time and have 8 orders with them 8 line family plan with att. I tried to ask if they can ship faster or anything and nobody offered me free faster shipping let alone a case, what are most of you saying if I may ask?

I had an issue that I had to know if the phone will arrive until a certain date, or I have to change shipping address.

While they gave no real valuable input ("You will receive a notification once it is shipped"), I asked to upgrade to the quickest shipping method available.

My order was changed to Next Day Shipping, even though I was not charged for it.

I'd be really interested to start a thread/spreadsheet of people who did and did not upgrade to "expedited shipping" to see if they arrive any faster.

Why in the hell is it that Apple still doesn't seem to have a clue? The phone is entering its third week, and still doesn't have anything to show for, in terms of gold. Has their heads been up their ass for the past 2 weeks, and they still think it's appropriate to make 33% of each phone?

Just be patient. :) You've already waited this long. It'll get here and you'll be overjoyed! And we'll be joining the other boards soon enough. I think the gold one is really the best colour so it's definitely worth the wait. It's quirky but still professional!

I just keep telling myself that I will not compromise on colour (it has to be gold!) and I would never pay a premium for something I can get in a few weeks (i.e., people on Kijiji/Ebay selling 16GB gold iPhones for $1000+). To me, waiting is really the only option as I am not prepared to troll Toronto's Apple stores for the slight chance that they may have the gold one.

It's frustrating, I know. But we'll get there!

I have never loathed the words "Available to ship: October" so freaking much.
 
Well ship date has not changed on apples site to November. So that's good! That means that anyone who ordered in sept can see their phones ship this week and early next week. Then they work on October orders.

Unless they decide to further piss anyone off and email them "Sorry, but your iPhone is available to ship in November" xD

Was at the Yorkdale store earlier. They got 16GB Silver, and later the 32GB Space Gray. No golds (boo...!)

No doubt I want the gold one. I saw it in store today, and it made me want it that much more. :)

Although it's very likely that 50+% of the 9 million orders were made on the 20th, I just can't fathom it being so lopsided. Is two weeks' worth of Gold production, only enough to satisfy 1 hour's worth of orders? That's insane.

I want that gold phone, and will nail apple to the wall if it's not in my hands by the end of the month. I'm just trying to speed up the process, by searching stores from time to time.
 
Got ours.

We ordered a Gold 32g iPhone from our local ATT store (Columbia, MS) on the first day of availability. This is a small store in a small town in South Mississippi. Lines in the store on first day? None. iPhones in stock? Six 5c's and zero 5s's.

Wife acted on my advice to opt for the 5s and she chose the gold. The very nice ATT rep took our order and payment and quoted a two-week delivery time via USPS. We left to pursue other bidness.

Two or three days later, we rec'd an email stating that the phone would be delivered Oct. 20-31. Wife was disappointed, of course, but as there wasn't anything else to do, we accepted this.

On Tuesday, Oct. 1, we rec'd an email stating that the phone had been shipped. It arrived on Thursday, Oct. 3. We took it to our local ATT store, where our very helpful rep got the new Gold iPhone up and running, got my wife's contacts, email accounts, Facebook account, internet account, as so forth all transferred and setup. I had already gotten the phone logged into our home wireless network and after we returned from the ATT store, I fairly quickly had the phone paired with our Nissan Altima's bluetooth hands-fee system.

We were first told to expect a two-week delivery, then that was updated to five weeks. We actually rec'd the phone in 11 days. All's well on our little hilltop on the edge of the Pearl River Swamp.

Just updating my friends .....32gb Gold ATT ordered at 6:30 Am EST on the 20th ...Still no movement

Right there with you. I waited a few days as well. I already got conf. from ATT that my ETF was reset to 24 months. Which is fine, at least I am starting to pay that down even without the phone in hand. Which means if I decide to jump on the iP6 I'll be a few bucks ahead rather than waiting for the 5S to show up to start the clock.

If launch weekend phones arrive to customers in November... there will be riots. They might as well give everyone a free switch to another model, because they are so bloody incompetent.

Might as well just cancel all future production of the gold model, too.

10/28 is the earliest for Gold from what I've seen.

But 10/28 is the ship date, so you get it on 10/30 ( close enough to November) but yeah this happens every year
 
So has anyone with a Gold phone ordered on launch day after the first hour or so seen any movement? I thought by the end of today we might see some change :mad:
