So has anyone with a Gold phone ordered on launch day after the first hour or so seen any movement? I thought by the end of today we might see some change

if they are delaying to fix the calibration issues( if hardware issue) i'm fine with waiting

Anyone getting iPhone 5s currently unavailable from apple.com HK?
I want to order 16g gold 5s + my previous order 32g gold.

I believe i have to stop checking my order status for some time as my order was placed 2am 20th but confirmation email received 23rd. So i believe that my order treated as it was ordered 23rd not 20th.

While apple still stuck with 20th orders for the 3rd week, i have to wait aside for one or two weeks more.

People remember they are not just making phones for online purchases, some phones go to stores and suppliers and carriers all over the world too.

October Ship

No change here , ordered late morning 2oth 'Processing - Dispatched - October ' still. No point ringing ineffectual Apple Customer Service , they apologise genuinely and profusely but cant actually DO anything . I get the impression Apple have had their publicity day in the sun and senior staff are off prepping the next iPad5/Macbook/MacPro/Mavericks show which is up next in a week or two .

While I'm sure people are beavering away in factories several continents away doing their very best and UPS are trying to keep up , I do not believe Apple are doing likewise .

If it is that... then fine, delay it. I want a fully functioning phone.

However, I don't think it is that. If they were really holding back because of a manufacturing flaw, how do you explain the Silvers and Space Grays leaving China? Some of those orders were placed much later than ours.

According to what an Apple rep told me, the stores/carriers are being supplied from a separate plant. Our online orders are from the main one.

I call bull on what he said, but it does explain why the stores/carriers are getting stock.

What makes me even more mad is that there are people on sites like Kijiji who bought 5 or more gold iPhones during the launch to re-sell and make a profit.

You wanna know what's worse? There are people still doing that today. I saw on various occasions today at the Apple Store, people buying phones, then getting back in line to buy another one... multiple times.

It was absolutely disgusting to watch... and that's putting it politely.

So many stores, 2 hours away from me have 16GB golds in stock. Not worth the drive. Why are the stores getting so much stock, yet were here 17 days later with a vague October shipping date. I'm furious.

My post was in the response to people who stock up on 5s, for flipping purposes. They didn't have any Golds whatsoever, at the stores today. These people were buying the 16 Silver and 32 Space Gray.

I somehow did that on accident. My iphone 4 has a realllllly bad lag. Sorry about that.

Absolutely! I knew there was high demand for the gold model but I really wanted it. I knew there would be a bit of a wait, but it's getting out of hand.

It has already been out of hand, for quite a while. The only model Apple's having trouble making / keeping a steady supply of, is the Gold.

This has to have been Apple/Foxconn's reactions 1 hour after launch:

Well that escalated quickly! That got out of hand really fast!

Called Apple today and ask about my order which has the "October shipped date" ( got the Tmobile 32gb gold) and the nice nice nice lady was very understanding, and she told me they are making the phones currently still...and she offered me 2 free apple leather cases( I chose brown and beige) and it shows up on my Oder status w/ my iPhones as free :)

roll back 3 -4 pages, still no movement for anything past 4 am on launch day. sorry no hope to get the GOLD this month.

What really sucks is that you can't even "edit" your order and change from gold to silver. As fas as I know, you would have to cancel the gold order and reorder a silver. I don't want to go to the end of a line considering I ordered 3 hours after launch. Right about now, I would take a silver ATT 32gb over the gold version if I knew I could get it within a week.

Content......for now

I ordered on the 22nd (I was one of those people who were screwed by RadioShack and Target) and at first I was really anxious and was going to settle for a Space Gray 16 GB that RadioShack finally called me told me they received in stock (I had my name on the list for a 32 GB Gold) but after going to my local Apple Store here in Maryland and seeing the Gold in person, I held to my previous opinion and stuck with the Gold.

I was rather anxious before but since the day I've place the order, I've been rather content. Plus, I told myself that I probably won't be seeing the phone (because of the October ship message) to the end of October anyway.

There is no wait period on 32 or 64gb silver/black from AT&T's website. There website shows no wait period for these sizes, i called and confirmed also. Order today they will be in your hand in two days i was told.

i want a gold though!

Even Apple customer service can't help you? They added the case to my order, and it (supposedly) didn't change anything.

Ordered on the same day, and it can't come soon enough. Kudos to you sir, you have the patience of a saint.

I agree. Patience is what I need more of. Referring to an earlier post, it's hard to fathom that the carrier sites can ship faster than Apple themselves. I guess I chose the wrong model. Last resort, calling Apple cust service if no movement soon.

You didn't choose the wrong model. From the various people I have talked to (also in line at Apple Stores) they all say that Gold is the model to have. If you already own an iPhone 5, then buying the Space Gray or Silver is basically the same thing. If you're gonna spend money on something, spend it on something different.

You've already been in line for so long, just keep strong. Nothing worse than turning your back on something, then having it turn around when you least expect it. Long story short... don't cave in. This is Apple's fault, not yours.:)
