Ordered Gold 16 GB verizon at 4:15am EST on launch morning. Shipped this morning - 10/8.

If Apple adjusted their daily production yield, to match the percentages of orders (by colour), it may have been solved by now. People who ordered Space Gray or Silver, are having theirs leave china in a week. Were those phones previously made, or made this week?

I need to be talked off the ledge... this is starting to get to me again.:(

Don't jump buddy ! When or if you do, let me know, I'll jump too !

Ordered 32 GB Gold ATT around 7:30 AM Eastern. No movement yet.. still processing. This thread is just getting depressing! We need to see some movement.

Hearing about a lot of you getting free cases and shipping is frustrating since my call to Apple yesterday did not go well. They would not refund my case or shipping even though I only have till this weekend to return the case and no phone to try it on. Also, she mentioned the phones are back ordered. While we do know that I thought it was odd she was telling me that basically they have been back ordered since the first hours of launch? That doesn't seem like a good thing to admit. I am calling again today to express my frustration. I don't mind waiting.. I just want to know how long. If you order something hours after launch they should be able to narrow it down. No other company could get away with this.. only Apple.

Join the club... nobody's getting any information out of Apple. I have called 5 times to get information, and not once were they able to give me anything specific. It was only on the fifth time, where the person offered me a case (and that was after I went on a 5-7 minute rant). Although we may be getting some freebies, they don't come easily. You have to be lucky, that you get someone who truly sympathizes with you.

Fast delivery :)

Paid the 10 bucks for the faster shipping, left China on the 6th night already out for delivery in Philly this morning :)

Well I paid the $10 too so maybe it will help once the phone is actually ready to be shipped. That's 4:45 AM Eastern I take it? Getting a little further along..

Production is running at maximum capacity; poor folks at Foxconn are working around the clock. How could you not have mentally prepared yourselves for a long wait before ordering your phones, especially if you ordered Gold? Just be patient. Your whining isn't going to speed up anything.

64gb ATT gold ordered around 3pm on 9/20 - still processing and no charges on CC. I'm just sad :(
I don't know what was going on with the iPhone 5 orders last year, but two years ago I was able to just walk in ATT store and walk out with a white 4S, in the afternoon in fact, waited 20 minutes for a sales rep to get to me and that was it. Didn't expect the wait to be this long now.

Can one mentally prepare themselves for three jumps in shipping/delivery estimations in only a few hours? I don't think Apple was even prepared for that. If they were, something would have been done by now.

Sure, whining doesn't change anything. It sure is healthier that bottling up frustrations inside yourself. The entire reason we're on this forum, is to discuss the lack of 5s stock.

My local apple store had gold 16gb models in stock. Like an idiot, I cancelled my 10/20 9pm order. My the time I got to the final stages of check out, they were obviously sold out. I just reordered 5 minutes ago. At this point, when my phone arrives, in 2014, I'll probably just vomit and have hatred towards it. Don't make the same mistake I did. GOOD LUCK!

That's exactly what I did, thinking that in store pick up was easy and painless. Well boy was I wrong. That was when I ordered on Sept 25, and reordered Sept 30.

Well I wish I had mentally prepared myself but I didn't. Two years ago I ordered a white 4s pre sale and got it on launch day no problem. I didn't know it was going to be this way this year. My 4s broke and will not come on anymore as of the week before launch. So I thought no prob I will just get the new phone next week haha. Had my husband (who is a real apple geek and does not mind) stand on line at our Apple store to guarantee it. I guess I naively thought that they would have enough Gold to hand some out to the people in line overnight. But they didn't!! So I ordered online as soon as he let me know. And now I wait.. I am losing my excitement about the phone and just need one. I have thought about switching to space grey but I really want gold so I am waiting.

To be honest from what I'm seeing on a couple of other forums things are moving. You've waited this long just a little more and you will forget all this, and you will be enjoying your lovely new phone.

2 simple words would have fixed this hot mess.... "Pre order" that way apple would have known the demand. Yet they used idiot logic ._.

Is it typical for a shipped phone to not get scanned for a few days? Shipped early Sunday morning (the 6th) and the last scan at that time was Arrival at ZhengZhou, China.

Can't wait to see them meet their estimated 10/10 delivery ;)

Apple should have had a clear method to cancel the online order and pick up in store if there was availability. Make it one process instead of having to risk canceling and hoping it was still available.

Yeah... no preorders + launching in more countries (China especially) on launch day... seems like a trend with Apple. Demand is higher every year. Just look at what happened with WWDC. It used to take weeks to sell out, then days, then hours, then minutes. Just gotta get in line as early as possible and then be patient. At least with a phone you'll actually get one, unlike people who were there ready on the dot and still didn't get a ticket for WWDC.

I waited in line for 15 hours on launch day thinking surely they'd have *one* of the model I wanted-- no one in front of me was looking for gold unlocked. But nope-- zero. THAT was disappointing. I had a backup plan... but I hesitated because I'd convinced myself I'd get what I wanted by waiting in line. So I had a gold phone I ordered while sitting in that line and it'll be here about 3 weeks after launch day. I did buy a space gray phone at the Apple store on launch day, but after letting it sit unopened for a few days, I decided I could wait for what I really wanted.

So, long story short... even if things haven't one the way we'd like them do, it is totally possible to ADJUST your expectations. I tend to obsess about the next gadget myself, but yeah. Nothing I can do about it, so no point in getting upset. I called apple only once to confirm there were no payment issues on my side.

Maybe they'll lose some customers from this ordeal. For myself... I've been giving Android a spin for 5 months or so and I'm content to wait in order to get back on iOS. It sucks having to play by Apple's terms, but those are the only terms you can play by if you want an iPhone.

I got a iPhone 5s Gold 32gb Verizon :) ... Last night I got extremely lucky found two Apple Stores with a 5s 32gb Gold in stock at around 1am. I cancelled my online order and waited about 20-30mins then I was able to reserve an iPhone. But... if figure let me check BestBuy.com too and WOW found a 32gb Gold at a only one local store in my area so. I reserved an iphone for store pickup at an Apple Store (about 2hrs away) and then chanced it going to BestBuy at 10am when they opened. :D Now I have my phone, so excited. For anyone looking on BestBuy.com you have to click on the actual product and view availablity. the regular site search doesn't show correct inventory

mine is the same lol I saw that it was updated this morning but it still says it's in ZhengZhou. My friends that shipped out a couple days earlier went through Korea and Hong Kong already even though we are both supposed to get it on the 10th?
