I ordered Silver on the 3rd of this month. That's probably why mine moved.
Your phone is going to show up, it has to. Apple can't just charge you, and run off with your money.
The question is when... when will my phone show up? For all we know, ours could ship out at the exact same time (although I doubt it).
What I would love to see is a giant chunk of Gold orders changing status all at once. Even just a solid hour's worth of them. Give me more of a sign, than a few trickling out here and there.
What really pisses me off is they're still sending phones to retail locations. How about you fulfill the orders that have already been placed online!!
Don't really want to pop your bubble... but most of us still waiting, are Gold models. Not too many Golds popping up in the wild (or at least not enough to be sustained for more than a couple minutes).
I honestly think this is what apple is doing building up stock and sending them out all at once.

By the way, anyone know how to remove the Apple 5s cases easier? Feels like I'm gonna snap my phone in half, trying to get it off.
Anyone get a free case via online chat? I doubt those people are able to offer them, but I hate wasting 15 minutes to make the phone call.

Yeah I may have to. Normally I think that people need to settle down a little bit because you ordered something that's backordered and you have to wait when you sign your name on that dotted line.....but the fact that my friends are picking up gold phones at best buy and I can't even get a shipping date is a little ridiculous.

I ordered a 32gb Silver (AT&T) through apple.com on 10/1 with an October ship date. It just switched to "preparing for shipment" today - earlier than I expected!
Looks like silver is catching up with demand by the day. My best buy here has shown In Stock for 16/32 models of silver every day for about a week now.
Don't vent at them (the reps). Have them file it as a complaint, regarding your order. At least that way, they say that it's forwarded to Apple management.
It doesn't make sense how long Apple takes to ship phones that were purchased on release day. I ordered mine on 9/20 @ 9:45 AM and still processing. Does it only applies to GOLD colors, is it really that hard to produce gold phones? Im starting to get annoyed by the fact that Apple doesn't even provide an estimated date on this and it's been already about 3 weeks!!

It's the gold. Don't know too many people from launch day/weekend still waiting, for silver or space gray.
It would be interesting to know if once an order is placed, the order sheet is received and printed out at Foxconn. Where are they storing all the Gold order forms? They must have a room dedicated to storing them.
We'll, I'm in the UK - I think the uk orders in general have been taking longer than US ones. It's getting a bit tedious now though.
