So I just set my discover card up to notify me via text when any charges over $300 are made to my account. Now I will know when it's going to ship before I even get the preparing for shipment email :)

You will get an e-mail from Apple.

Yeah they're different AT&T are GSM (SIM) and Verizon and Sprint are CDMA (No SIM)

Actually Verizon and Sprint both have sims since they are LTE capable.
All Verizon iPhone 5S's are SIM unlocked due to FCC regulations on the LTE band they purchased a while back.
Sprints are locked by default under subsidy.

I called Apple today about status on my Gold 16GB Verizon 5S ordered approx 11amET on 9/20. The online status current still states October. Apple told me timeline right now is the end of October for shipment.

The people on the phone have no idea, clearly. Evidence here shows that a lot of launch day (and even a post launch day order) are going out.

So am I reading this right? Some customers who ordered a Gold 16GB AT&T (which is the most popular combo for the gold it seems) a day after launch, is receiving their phone before someone who ordered a Gold 64GB AT&T on launch day at 6am? *****?

IPhone 5s gold At&t

Order placed and confirmation received at 4:24am ET 9/20 (1 hour and 24 mins after lunch)

Order change to preparring to ship 10/8 (card charged)

Just giving time reference for others

okay so just trying to put the puzzle together. When you order your phone @ 4:24 EST, you were in the "delivers October 7-11" group correct? If so, that means if i order mine @ 9:45 am EST or even people who order the phone earlier, would possibly get an update of "preparing for ship" by early next week. Would anyone else agree?

Seems like there's a lack of rhyme or reason, down at Foxconn. The orders don't seem to be following any sort of logical sequence anymore.

I'm still waiting for the day when Apple magically ships all our phones off in one batch. Then we all can be happy at the same time.::D

Everything about this launch has defied logic. No point in trying to make sense of anything, honestly.:)

MacRumors would shut down faster than the government did, if they shipped them all at the same time.

its logistic thing, I mean first you have to think of how many models they have (which are for launch markets, new models man

•A1533 (GSM)
•A1533 (CDMA)
•A1453
•A1457
•A1530

And each comes in 3 colors and 3 storage sizes, then you have in the US for example, you get A1533 made for TMO and ATT. Also keep in mind they have to start making other models too maybe for new markets which they have contaracts with. Add to that the iPhone 5c, and you can easily see why supply is streched out.

I think this happened earlier this week, and it returned with no updates. But hey, now that we know they're starting to get lots of complaints maybe this time they're taking it down to give us an update.

Apple to update october status?

I was in the October group (Did not have a date) I hope that helps. You have to look at Gold models as they have a delayed time line compare to the other two models. Hope that helps.

Day 19 -

No progress. 32gb Gold ATT 5s ordered 9/20 @ 6:30 am EST

Send me the parts !! I'll put it together myself !!! Ridiculous !
