Sept 20th orders with October ship date, Apple.com buyers. [MERGED]

The information mill seems to have reached a grinding halt. The 7-10 people seem to have gotten their phones (or at least have had them leave the factory). What the hell is going on now?:(

Apple is dancing on a very fine line. On the one hand, they want to reach as many new markets, as quickly as possible. On the other, rapid over-expansion will stretch the supply way too thin. Their quest to regain a fast stranglehold on the world market share, will be their undoing. While we continue to curse and vent at Apple for not completing our orders, the new markets will complain about being teased without any substance to back it up.

This is a cluster****, and hopefully Apple won't be burried alive for it.

If I buy the iphone 6 next year, I'm definitely going to wait until there's plenty of stock and then I'll just walk in to a store and buy one. Heck, I may not get the 5s until next year. :(

I'm starting to think time doesn't have anything to do with the situation. I placed my order and received my email confirmation at 4:19 am ET on the 20th I STILL have no movement in my gold 16GB Sprint iPhone.

I really don't know what to say anymore. If indeed there are production issues with the Gold model, Apple should just come clean with consumers. Either give us the option to continue to wait, or immediately change our orders to one of the other 2 colours, and ship them immediately.

I'm not enjoying the silent treatment. I want to know honestly, what in the hell is going on. I don't think volume is the sole issue holding up shipments. There must be something else.

At this point, any news is good news. However, one person reporting change is way too small of a sample size. Will be more convinced of actual progress, if there are lots of people reporting changes.

Sorry for being a negative nancy...:D

I had an order from Sept 20th for gold on AT&T for my fiancé. I just canceled that today because I found one at a local Apple store. But when clicked checkout someone already reserved it...very frustrating! I'll just keep checking the website everyday so I can do a local pickup.

Apple definitely dropped the ball on this!

Ahhhh yay this is so exciting to hear. At least we are making some progress. What capacity is that if you don't mind?!
 
32gb gold Sprint 5s-ordered 1:59 PDT. Just this afternoon now "preparing for shipment" and can no longer be modified.

BUT

Mine is "Preparing for Shipment"!!! I ordered on 9/21 at about 3 PM EST: 16GB Gold Verizon
 
I called Apple today about status on my Gold 16GB Verizon 5S ordered approx 11amET on 9/20. The online status current still states October. Apple told me timeline right now is the end of October for shipment.

This just goes to show that date doesn't necessarily equal order of shipment. Not sure if I should be happy with that though...:(
 
I can't believe it. Before the Gold scarcity..now the Verizon/AT&T priority over T-Mo Contract Free? :eek:

Does the Tmobile phones work with sim cards? Even though mine is a 64GB, ours may ship at the same time.
 
So I just set my discover card up to notify me via text when any charges over $300 are made to my account. Now I will know when it's going to ship before I even get the preparing for shipment email :)
