Okay called Apple and here is what happened:
No explanation on why my order was preparing to ship back to processing back to October 24th - 28th date. No explanation on why people who ordered after me have received their phone or it has shipped. And no explanation on why someone ordering today or after us gets the same ship dates. When I pushed she told that people ordering after me will get their phone later. That even though the site says October they won't ship till November. I asked her why the site was lying to people then and she said that it's just an estimate. Well I think this is bs and she was saying anything to appease me. She had no clue. She mentioned that she ordered a gold phone on launch day and hers still says processing too. She actually said "at least you have a ship date". I pretty much spent 20 min arguing with her and getting nothing. I asked if there was a manager I could talk to and she said no, that nobody knows anything. So nobody at Apple knows anything about this launch? I asked if I could file a complaint and she said she would note it in my file.
Then right before we were going to get off the phone I brought up my case and how I only had till Saturday to return it and no phone to try it on. She then offered me the free case and the expedited shipping. I already paid for both of these so she credited me. I guess that appeases me somewhat. There is no information coming out of Apple about how these orders are being handled though. Unless I want to cancel and get a diff color or phone I really feel we have no recourse. It's horrible customer service though..
