Okay called Apple and here is what happened:

No explanation on why my order was preparing to ship back to processing back to October 24th - 28th date. No explanation on why people who ordered after me have received their phone or it has shipped. And no explanation on why someone ordering today or after us gets the same ship dates. When I pushed she told that people ordering after me will get their phone later. That even though the site says October they won't ship till November. I asked her why the site was lying to people then and she said that it's just an estimate. Well I think this is bs and she was saying anything to appease me. She had no clue. She mentioned that she ordered a gold phone on launch day and hers still says processing too. She actually said "at least you have a ship date". I pretty much spent 20 min arguing with her and getting nothing. I asked if there was a manager I could talk to and she said no, that nobody knows anything. So nobody at Apple knows anything about this launch? I asked if I could file a complaint and she said she would note it in my file.
Then right before we were going to get off the phone I brought up my case and how I only had till Saturday to return it and no phone to try it on. She then offered me the free case and the expedited shipping. I already paid for both of these so she credited me. I guess that appeases me somewhat. There is no information coming out of Apple about how these orders are being handled though. Unless I want to cancel and get a diff color or phone I really feel we have no recourse. It's horrible customer service though..

I know what you feel. I'm really annoyed as well after i saw that my bank was charged and my order was moved to "delivered by nov 1" even though i order the phone on launch day ! WTF. Makes no sense :mad:

Did she escalate your iphone order?

Nope, she just kept telling me to be patient and it will be worth it. She pretty much acted like there was nothing that could be done. Which is is also annoying since you were told something different. We were on the phone a long time. By the end I was weary and stopped arguing :) She did throw this tidbit out at the very end.. that it was just an estimated shipping date and hopefully they will ship sooner. So maybe that is all it is and we will still get it sooner? I don't know what to think anymore.
 
I already have my iPhone 5S but now trying to get the gold color for my girlfriend. After trying to find one locally in our area for 2 weeks, we finally gave up and ordered a 64GB gold AT&T online yesterday. I'm also getting the same date of Oct 24-28, deliver by Nov 4 standard shipping, but it makes no sense that most of you all ordered weeks ago before me and getting the same date.
Damn that's messed up.
 
LOL....expected delivering November 1st...ordered on the 25th. WHAT A ****ING JOKE

Screw it, im going to down the apple store to see if the gold is really worth waiting for over the silver. Have looked at them briefly a couple times
 
Well I just checked UPS and my order is supposed to come on the 16th not the 18th (as Apple's email stated). Even better! :D

I feel bad for everyone who has ordered on the 20th and hasn't had any progress or are being told they will get it in November. I was super frustrated up until yesterday. :(

Hmm... looks like we have the exact same shipping info. Maybe our phones will leave on the same plane.
 
Same. Knowing is better than not knowing, but that's a lot of days between ordering and receiving!

Yeah but my payment was already taken out of my bank account. So it sucks that not only did my date change & I have been waiting for over 20 days but my status has been stuck on processing even after 24 hours of my payment coming out. This is not cool

I ordered a Gold 5s AT&T for my mom on Sept 28th. This morning it still shows processing but now it says available to ship: Oct 24-28 delivers by: Nov 1

This is ****ing ridiculous! How about they don't release the phone to the whole world when they don't have enough supply!

I'll try to get her a phone with in store pickup, that's how I got my fiancées gold phone a couple days ago...will be here Saturday :)
 
Ordered mine on October 6th, and still have the same date as just about everyone else here.

Is next day shipping $6 more than expedited or $16 more?
 
Looks like all the orders are shipping in the same batch now, no? At least I don't have to constantly check the status every 10 minutes now. :-/

Okay. There's quite a few people in here that ordered "after" the 20th who are getting the same ship date as us who ordered on the 20th. I'm kinda feeling like those of us who actually got up early, and ordered these should be getting them earlier than the rest of these folks. Not trying to be rude, but just being honest. Kinda feel like we got screwed. What was the point in getting up earlier than the rest? Could order it tomorrow and get it the same time.
 
It's been theorized that these dates are more than likely estimate dates given out by Apple to appease the countless people that have been calling them asking what "October" means
 
PSA! If you want EXPEDITED SHIPPING - your phone must still be PROCESSING for starters. If it is preparing for shipment, you are too late. You must call Apple and ask for expedited shipping. If they don't want to give it you, they don't have to. They've don't it for most of us, so if you're nice they should give it to you too.
 
Same info here... ordered 7:30am Pacific time on 9/20, ordered just changed to:

"Ships Oct 24-28 -- Deliver by Nov 1st".
