Anyone order between 1am-8am PST on launch day (9/20)??

Did anyone else order a gold AT&T phone between 1am-8am PST on 9/20?

While it appears gold orders in the first 30 min of launch are being fulfilled, I'm trying to figure out if there were a ton of orders between the initial rush at midnight and those of us who may have ordered a little later (while standing in line at the store).

My order of a gold 32gb AT&T at 7:41am PST is still "processing" (as expected, given some who ordered earlier than me are still processing, too).

Already considering that... but it feels like a giant cop out. We've spent so much time debating when they will come, and in the end we settled for something else. Don't jump ship just because you want the phone now, but if you really don't mind the silver/gray, then go ahead.

Just canceled my order on apple.com for a 16 gb gold T-mobile iPhone. I ordered it at 2:03AM and it has been "processing" ever since. I just ordered a 16 gb silver model because I already have the red leather case for the phone and I wouldn't be able to see the gold anyways.

I don't believe this is accurate. I think the 16GB Gold models are really hard to come by. Someone in the other thread just said his shipment just went out and he ordered at 12:01!

Been debating canceling and ordering through AT&T Premier cause they seem to be moving faster but after waiting a week already I think I should just hold time. I have a feeling next week the October orders will start shipping

Sorry, guess I should have clarified: "In general, gold orders in the first 30 min of launch are being fulfilled..."

Note also that I said "being" fulfilled...even orders that are "preparing for shipment" have at least gotten the fulfillment process started. I think the 12:01 order was somewhat of an anomaly, but then again maybe that's me being optimistic. And I will admit that I've been more focused on the model I ordered: gold 32gb AT&T, which I believe is also really hard to come by.

Rather than focusing on the negative posts, I'm hoping to find a glimmer of hope that shipments keep coming out of China...

IMO I would hang tight rather than canceling. I think the AT&T orders fulfilled faster because (from what I've read) they reserved a lot of their stock for online orders...and there were just fewer people ordering on ATT.com vs Apple.com. At this point, however, I would bet that their orders (placed now) are not being fulfilled as quickly as they deplete their gold phone supplies. Just my $.02.

Haha well being honest I like the silver better but just ordered a gold for the showoff factor. I'm thinking that the silver just looks better in colored cases which I'll probably wind up using (except for maybe the brown leather case, that one looks pretty good with the gold phone).

To be honest myself, I originally was aiming for Space Gray. When stock ran dry in retail stores, I was told to go online. When I saw that both the Space Gray and Gold were quoted as "October" I just went for the hot favourite, in the Gold.

The only difference between the Gold and Silver, is that every gold part is silver and vice versa. I guess it's true that both are acceptable. I will let the idea continue to percolate in my mind.

No. If you had/have your heart set on a gold, why settle for something else? It'll get here soon enough and you'll have it to look at for the next year or two. Go with something else and, if it means that much to you, in a month or so you'll be noticing how quickly time has passed and why you didn't just wait it out.

Edit: Just saw your post above. BY all means switch it up if silver is your thing. Now, to sound like an old man, it is bad form to get in the habit of buying things to impress others. Now, get off my lawn ;-)

Guys if you really want the gold, wait until it ships. I know it's no fun waiting, but I bought a space grey to try and appease myself and just ended up taking it back because it wasn't what I really wanted. It'll be worth the wait when you get the phone you really want .

I ordered a 64GB Gold AT&T at 2:08am PST which is still in "processing" with estimated delivery "October". I also ordered a 64gb Silver AT&T at 2:04am PST with estimated delivery in 1-3 business days that was delivered on 9/25.

This is not accurate at all.. I ordered my Gold 32 gig, on the 20th and received it on the 25th. I know a few people who ordered the same color and model , on the 20th, and we've all received our orders . All of us were in the 1-3 day group. I think it depended on how fast you placed your order that night. I had a confirmation email by 1202 am ... I love my gold IPhone but, it's pretty close to silver in color... If I'd seen it in person before I placed my order, I would've been just as happy with silver. I wonder how many people ordered the Gold 5s because of the pictures they have seen?? It's very light gold...

Yes sir, as far as I've seen. I figure Apple has until Friday-ish to ship their launch day "ships in 7-10 business days" orders. Hopefully we start to see some movement after that.

Yep, I think some of our orders will start to ship next Thursday (Friday in China) next week. With deliveries being the 15-16th.

Mine being 4:44am Pacific, launch day, I think I will not get it until the last week of October.

If you plan on ordering any Gold colored model from AT&T, you might as well stick with the 'October shipping' with Apple. I added a line to my AT&T account yesterday and I was informed that Black & Silver models were 1 - 2 weeks to ship and Gold models were 3 - 7 weeks to ship. So, I ended up going BYOD w/ no contract for now, keeping the iPhone 5s option open for a near future upgrade.

I originally ordered my Silver 64 on the 22nd, I checked at&t's site yesterday morning and it didn't say 7-14 days on the 64. Assuming they had stock I canceled my apple order and tried the at&t. This morning I got the tracking number. Probably would have been another couple weeks so I'm happy with that.

I really hope your estimate above is wrong. I ordered about 3 hours after you on launch day and really hope I get it before the last week of Oct.

Besides, if we ordered on launch day and are getting it in the last week of October, how are online orders at Apple.com STILL showing October ship dates?
