thread became a glorified chat room, which is a no-no. at least i think that was the problem, or the only one i was aware of.

Is there a section of this site that allows for personal chit-chat and so forth without having to PM? It'd be kinda nice to have an area where we can find out if we live in the same area as some people and try to make connections in the real world instead of just within the MR confines. If there isn't one, perhaps a section should be added to the Forum board to allow for this.

Straight, married guy w/kids. But oddly enough, most of my best buds are lesbians. I think it's cause I actually like women, and it's nice dealing with them without even the remotest possibility of sex lurking. But is there a name for this? What's the male equivalent of "Fag Hag"? "Dike Mike"?

Ah. Well, I suppose it doesn't help that it was all about gay stuff, if anyone or any forum group was opposed to it, I'm sure the complaining would be louder because of that.

So what is using it as a chat room? When the thread contents are like "Hey, good morning" or when it veers off topic and talks about shoes or their date last night? Isn't that kind of related to being gay? I guess I could see how that should be in a thread titled "Had a gay date last night, have questions" or "What do you think of these stylish shoes?" or "Anyone ever been to Eagle (gay bar in SF)?" etc...

How can we avoid this happening again? This thread is already way off topic and was vague to begin with...

Bingo- and what PoD said. I don't wish to see a repeat of what happened as a result. There are a lot of cool members who are no longer here because of it.

there is a MR IRC channel that is available.

its not that the content was offensive, its that people were just posting to chat rather than really doing anything else. i agree that its a fine line between chat and regular posting, but its common sense really.

feel free to use the IRC channel for chatting or even PM a member and set up an external way to chat with them. but posting back and forth just in the daily 'chit-chat' type of stuff is kinda frowned upon, especially in extreme cases where it goes on for a long time.

i don't either, but we also shouldn't stifle conversation. like i said its a fine line. it was a shame to see so many people leave.

Thanks. Many from here actually go to California to work with a surrogate - you live in the right place, it will just cost you about the same as 50ish 24inch iMacs. :(

Yeah I can imagine.

Is it possible to shoot for fraternal twins with one procedure?

Either way, I'd just save for longer to do it I suppose.

Multiples are the "expected" outcome statistically speaking. This is a long story and I'd be happy to share with you in direct correspondence.

Me? Its too bad that there isn't a "I'll **** just about anything human that moves if it weren't due to medical issues out of my control" option. Otherwise I guess I get tagged with the "Bi" label.
Hi vniow, long time no see. Hope you're well and all :)

Having read all the above I just realise I never declared. I'm as bent as an nine-bob note, and married according to la ley de España (UK CP notarised as a marriage in Cataluña). No kids, no plans for kids, just a dog who is spoiled rotten.

Straight and recently single.

I do get mistaken as gay, however, as I tend to:

(a) Take care of my grooming/personal hygiene rather noticeably (eg. copious amounts of hair-product in bathroom)
(b) Dress rather fashionably
(c) I am a slight-build with a "pretty" face.
(d) Very interested in design, and my home is neat, modern and reflects a large amount of effort and money spent on aesthetics.

I realize the above are stereotypes - but I guess people still subscribe to them...

This is just me as well. I'm glad I'm not alone in the world. I'm neat, orderly, have a sense of self-style and fashion and love wild ties.

Straight as a dime, with a beautiful friend who just by pure chance happens to be female; What are the odds?! OMG I'm.... I'm.... STRAIGHT! Phew got that off my chest!

And we have one child via surrogacy and in the process of creating #2. Children to be linked genetically via surrogate, and we will each be the bio father of one of them.
Congrats on the pending #2!! Take the advice of the father of three and stop at two. With three, the parents are always out numbered!! That said, I would not trade my youngest for the world.
As for the topic, I am straight. I have a great many Gay friends ( I know, that sounds sooo stereo type ) and I have never considered anyone's sexual orientation as any of my business. I have always chosen my friends by who they are, not who the sleep with.

I didn't read all pages of this, so I'm not sure if it's still a serious blog anymore. But since this is about sexual orientation!...

As a Christian I believe our higher power designed two genders so they can be together. The sexualy reproductive parts and the hormones were really designed for opposite sexes. I'm not totally sure what really makes people gay because... I am not gay. I'm not sure if it's a hormone imbalance (because really, that honestly can make you believe you're gay) or if it's something you're born with (I don't know if I really believe that) or it's just something that happens. Kind of like I'm extremely in love with the BMW 3 series while my mom tells me to like Mercedes better. I can't help that I'm in love with BMW! That's just what I love! Homosexuality is nothing new under the sun, at all. There were entire homosexual cities mentioned in the Bible. And just as a person has a mouth and can gossip with it, a person has a body to put towards homosexuality. It is not a surpirse to anyone. Now days, homosexuality is just broadcasted.

However, as a good loving person, I don't judge a gay person because they are gay! That's not what I should do, because if homosexuality is a sin, and I'm not going to like the homosexuals because they're sinners, then I guess I really just can't like anyone. I also am not saying that you can't be a gay Christian. That discussion is a whole different forum. So to end this blog... I am straight and quite in love with my boyfriend :). Oh, and if you're gay, that is REALLY okay with me. I have gay friends! :) All is good in the neighborhood.

Straight as an arrow, but really don't give a crap what someone is. I don't judge based off what 2 (or more, if you're into that thing ;)) people do in their private lives, and I don't think their life style is any less moral than mine.
