Just throwing this out there: has anyone tried to install a screen protector outside? Less chance of dust particles landing on the screen mid-install.

If anyone has, how did it go?

Trying to figure out the safest way to apply this piece of art

Not really, try a big zip lock bag. Something sterile that you can move around in will do great.

Is it possible that the coating is scratched?
Just wondering how durable the oleophobic coating is?
Have read reports that it wears off the plastic version.

Mine is already scratched. No idea from what.

It may be possible that it is the silicone adhesive undernearth has come loose.

In trying different cases I managed to slightly dislodge mine causing some of the adhesive to show underneath the glass. It sort of looks like scratches/small bubbles. The edges in particular have a weird looking residue on it now that looks like a cut in the glass when it is really fine.

In reality I don't see any durability issues as long as you don't move the glass once it is put on. Basically use a case that does not come over the glass and you will be fine.

Mine worked great for the past 2 weeks with the Mophie I use daily. Things started getting wonky when I began screwing around with other cases for testing. The Glass.t didn't play well with the Otterbox Defender or the Griffin Survivor. I also couldn't get any slider case on it (I tried the Incase Pro Slider, Otterbox Reflex, and IFrogz Bullfrog). It also wouldn't quite fit into the Candyshells I have. It fit, but wouldn't "lock" in.

The SP did work well with the Incase Snap, Element Comp and Vapor Pro, Otterbox Commuter, and sort of fit the Incipio DRX and NGP (though not perfect).

I guess the question most people have is if they should buy it. Personally, while it is really cool and feels great, I can't recommend it for most people. It is awesome if, and this is a big if, you can get it installed correctly. If you miss or need to move it around for a better alignment you are basically screwed from ever seeing it in all of its perfect glory. For essentially $30 it isn't worth it since you are probably going to not get a perfect install. I personally have a small piece of lint underneath. Luckily it isn't on the usable screen portion so I'm ok with it, but if it was on the viewable screen I'm sure it would be really annoying. It wasn't hard to actually get it on but getting it perfect is trying and in the end I failed.

I would recommend either the PS Crystal since it is half the price of this guy and comes with multiple SPs in the box. Sticking with SGP, the higher end one (the Ultimate Class) is good but not $27 good like some people are leading it on to be. It feels identical to their other crystal ones which are half the price. If you are going to spend the $27 on the Ultimate class, which only gets you one as well, then you should just get the Glas.t and hope for the best on the install. I would get the HD Optics or the Oleophobic one from SGP before the Ultimate Class.

I find it kind of funny that the "reviewers" are all praising the Ultimate Class when in reality is identical to SGPs other one (the HD Optics) for essentially double the price. I had one of the HD Optics and one of the Ultimate Class on two phones side by side and I honestly couldn't tell the difference except for the odd thickness of the Ultimare one. Looked and felt identical otherwise. Not sure why people are trying to make the Ultimate Class out to be better than it really is since it really doesn't seem any more or less durable than the standard ones, just oddly thick. It still scratched when I put it in my pocket with my keys, just like the standard one so sure why it is marked at a premium due to it's "hardness" as it won't protect your screen any more or less than the HD Optics one for $15.

In reality, since people got them for free for review they are probably a little starstruck at their new stuff just like they are with those stupid Phosphor watches (which are overpriced and cheaply made by the way). Full disclosure time: I got all of mine for free too. I just don't forget that these things cost money when I make a statement/review about them.

End rant

This is a fair review.

Nah, it was definitely scratches in the glass. I could catch my fingernail on them. Same place my cheap plastic ones get scratched, as best i can tell its from pulling them in and out of my jeans.

Interesting. I actually tried to scratch mine in testing and couldn't do it. I keep mine in a pair of jeans too. I even tried putting it in my pocket with my keys. I actually scratched my case, but not the screen protector.

Makes me curious as to the durability. Hopefully mine holds up.

For reference I primarily used a Mophie Juice Pack Plus while using the SP. IT is so thick that it makes the phone have zero lay on the table when in the Juice Pack Plus.

Thanks, good to know because I use this case too for my iPhone.

Goes great with my Vapor Epiphany (original white version) !! Easy to put on / remove bubbles by taking it back off again. Recommended ;)

I actually got mine in today and just put it on. I have to say this thing is freakin sweet. I can't speak about durability but the look and feel is awesome. I took my time and made sure my glass was über clean, pealed off both covers for better better vision and took my time. No issue with an apple bumper. The deeper home button doesn't bother me either. I did place one of the stickers on but didn't really dig it. It was a beotch to get off. If it goes on wrong it's your own fault so if you don't think you can apply it the first time don't get it. All others I would suggest one depending on which case you use of course.

Exactly. If you watch Larry Greenberg's reviews, you will notice that every product he reviews he gives a thumbs up and recommends. I highly doubt that out of all those products that he's looked at there isn't one that is bunk. It's quite obvious that he gives good reviews in order to continue receiving all those free products. It's sad that so many people eat that crap up while the he downplays the bad aspects of products. It's dishonest to say the least. Larry's not the only one though, there are many like him. It'smemorphious was by far the best of the reviewers. If it's garbage he will straight up say so. No BS. Many people just don't have the balls to do what he does though sadly.

Not hatin, jus sayin.

As I am typing this message, it's been on it for about 15 mins, and the corner is meaningfully better.

what do you mean by meaningfully better?

Yep, after a couple of days. Much better the the screen protector I had before, even if it is a bit expensive.

I honestly don;t see how people aren't recommending this. I fyou are utterly terrible at installing a screen shield, this isn't for you, but saying that a cheap screen shield is a better value seems silly to me. The feel like crap (once you feel this one, you will understand), they scratch ULTRA easily, and they simply aren't as clear (which is certainly compounded as scratches begin to develop. Take your time, be careful, and install the dang thing right the first time. Don't let a bunch of people who need 15 screen shield installs to get one right turn you off of getting this. If you do it right, this will be the best screen shield you have ever had. The only complaint I can see is the thickness, though that doesn;t bother me at all.

Do you live in a sandy area? Or are you, in general, just a filthy person? (kidding on the latter... are maybe not! :p). I ask, because just pulling in and out of jeans shouldn't even cause the iPhone's regular glass to scratch. You need something abrasive. The easiest thing to imagine would be silica sand particles in your pockets. You can pick these up pretty easily at the beach, lake, etc.

Nope, neither of those. But i had a few scratches on my screen after a few days. I returned it and got my money back. its a great feeling product, just not worth $30 to me. Plus i had corners that would not stick down

Not trying to argue, but there must have been something there. Cotton cloth simply isn't going to scratch this stuff if taking a key straight to it doesn't.

For those who have had this on for awhile now, how's the Oleophobic Coating holding up?

Is it anything like the ultra series ultra oleo screen protector where it wears off after a few weeks and is a fingerprint/oil magnet?

I've had no issues with mine. It's still as good as the day I installed it.

It's gonna be too soon to tell. I'd say wait for another month or so to be able to get an accurate report.

I've had mine installed perfectly for about two weeks now. The install required patience and thankfully I've had tons of practive applying screen protectors as I've probably put on 50 or so including my own and all of my co-workers and friends that have iPhones. The durability or 'not showing scratches' factor seems very high as my previous SGP Crystle screens and Power Support Crystal screens would show scratches after just a few weeks. I keep my phone in my right front pocket with nothing else and am pretty careful with it.

I installed mine last night BEFORE the gym... Kind of crooked by the home button (about .1-.2 mm to be perfect) but so far I like it! The bubbles at the edge even after the gym, there is no dust underneath, but so far, I love this thing!

EDIT: I put the home button cover thing, and it looks like I didn't mess up at all!

Sorry but I have to disagree. I actually don't recommend anything at all unless it's something that I personally end up using - and those are things I usually purchase myself. Sorry to debunk your conspiracy theory.

I try to simply point out the features and benefits of the product I'm showing in my videos. None of my videos are ever even titled "review." I give my best overview of whatever product I'm showing and leave it up to the viewer to determine whether or not a product is right for them or not.
