Fedex never showed on truck, site still showed delivery 7/7/10.
Ordered 6/15/10, shipping data entered 6/29/10, started process in China 6/30/10. There have been other reports of how we can not rely on Fedex information. I told my driver what the site said and he just laughed. Best of luck to all.:)

Thanks for posting this: I'm in the same situation. Apple says it shipped 6/30, FedEx estimates the arrival date as 7/2 (today) based on the day that Apple created the tracking number. But FedEx has absolutely no tracking information along the way.

I'm just hoping it's not lost on a shipping dock at the factory. I don't want to fight this in a situation while Apple blames FedEx and FedEx blames Apple.

Mine is finally on the way, (eta 7/8 . . sheesh  ) but leave it to Apple to mess up on the way out:

"Package received after FedEx cutoff"

My guess is yours will arrive today. My box shows shipped 6/30 on it. Fedex tracking is a joke. And there automated phone system is even worse. I have read posts in the past where there were no updates from China until the knock on the door to deliver...

On the order status page mine is now saying

For the iPhone - Shipped on: Jul 1, 2010 via Merge in Transit GB

For the dock - Shipped on: Jul 1, 2010 via Syncreon Technology

Still says delivery 5th-6th but when you track its the 14th still.

Just checked the TNT tracking site and this is my status

01 Jul 2010 09:05:47 Hong Kong Shipment In Transit.
01 Jul 2010 09:00:30 Hong Kong Shipment Received At Transit Point.
01 Jul 2010 06:29:00 Shenzhen Shipment In Transit.
01 Jul 2010 03:40:01 Shenzhen Shipment In Transit.
01 Jul 2010 01:02:06 Shenzhen Shipment Collected From Sender.

What are the next stages and will it be TNT that deliver to my door in the UK?

My phone "shipped" two days ago but tracking hasn't updated past the initiated phase. I'm so over the Apple online store.

Ok so update on my situation: Yesterday I saw that my iPhone left Alaska in the afternoon and was expecting to see it arrive at the local sort facility sometime this morning but not make the cutoff to go out for delivery (I have a July 7 delivery date).

I don't work on Fridays so I slept in a bit and woke up around 10. I checked the page, and lo and behold it says it was out for delivery today, and at 9:16 there was a delivery exception because my "business was closed". I looked on the front door but see no note from them about a failed delivery and 2 minutes later it's reported as being at the facility:

I called and the guy was perplexed at what happened but said that it was at the facility. He told me that since it has a July 7 date he can't officially ask for a reattempt before that date, but I can go pick it up.
So after lunch I'm heading over there to hopefully get it.

Pretty amazing that it's gotten this far this fast, but I'm wondering why it shows a 2 minute difference between delivery attempt and it being back at the facility. My house is almost an hour away from there.....

I ordered 6/15 at 8:59 PM PDT. "Not yet Shipped" after two days of "Prepared for Shipment." So I put an order in at AT&T this morning. Apparently Apple and AT&T can't communicate even though they are selling communication equipment and service. I have been on the phone for a total of 6 hours asking both parties to fix my order problem. So my Apple order is done. Hopefully I made the right decision. No July 2nd ship for me.

*Update* I actually received an email from apple saying they resolved my issue before I canceled my order. So now it says ships in 3-5 days. I guess I will cancel the AT&T now. But I'm not sure I trust anything anymore. Maybe I should have the AT&T order as a backup.

Anybody else seeing "Incorrect Transit Times In System, Possible Delivery Delay." and what does that mean?

Yep. Mine is exactly the same - including the same times give or take a couple of seconds. Apple's tracking page still reports "shipment on schedule" and a delivery date of the 5th.

Received mine. Ordered around 9 PST on the 15th.

And of course with my luck, I got one with the antenna issue. Waiting for SwitchEasy to come out with their case so I can get everything but the kitchen sink and fix the issue!

On apple page mine was delivery date the 8th. I checked again, now it is the 5th, like you said. Which would be nice.

Funny thing is that exception is coming from Shenzhen but it already arrived in HK. But I think it is 17:00h CET. Which would explain it.

I think mine started out as an ETA of the 7th, but changed to the 5th quite quickly.

I did think it was strange the exception was coming from Shenzhen but it was already reported to have arrived in HK.

Hopefully its nothing to worry about and they'll still make the 5th.

I did originally have a hope there'd be a slim chance they would bulk ship to the UK prior to the 2nd and then simply ship out from there as they did on the launch shipments, but no such luck it would seem. Lol.

Well FedEx's tracking removed my estimated delivery time and just says Anticipated ship date Jun 30, 2010. Still stuck in the initiated phase.

Update: Holy cr*p!! In just a span of about 5hrs, my iPhone 4 has traveled from Alaska to Oakland, CA on the same day! (10:04pm PT). It is now just under 400 miles away from me now. I could very well get it tomorrow right before the holiday weekend and well before the estimated July 7 delivery....ssswweeett!!

Update: Amazing! Just received my new iPhone 4! :D What a beauty, syncing now. The whole transaction from Shenzhen, China to my home took just 3 days!! Best of luck to everyone who still waiting. ;)

Mine is currently In Transit - possibly Flight: BAW28 ?

02 Jul 2010 15:01:03 Hong Kong Shipment Received At Transit Point.
02 Jul 2010 12:43:00 Shenzhen Shipment In Transit.
02 Jul 2010 07:56:26 Shenzhen Shipment In Transit.

As I expected: Apple says they gave it to FedEx, FedEx says they never received it from Apple. I called 800-MY-APPLE and was told they won't do anything until the ship-by date passes (today). Ugh.

Maybe it 'fell off the truck'.

That's bad - hope it gets resolved

Guess I was too anxious. FedEx finally located my iPhone - it just cleared customs in Anchorage. I'm sure I'll see it in a few days. Meantime, let's just relax and enjoy the holiday weekend.

Me too. I was on the phone for 45 minutes today with Apple Customer Service. They kept saying it is in a pallet somewhere. Thanks for that. Couldn't understand why I might not be happy.

I think this might have been an end of quarter money grab. They declare it is shipped, send out an email and charge your card for the phone. They probably also collect the money from AT&T. So strong last quarter when you "ship" a bunch of product that you have not even made yet. Makes lots of folks in the management chain look good. Probably earns some nice performance bonuses. The only ones screwed are the customers. Who cares, there are millions more where they came from.

FYI, according to CNBC reports on Monday, 6/28 Apples financial quarter ended last Saturday so any sale recorded from Sunday on moves into their next quarter. That is why they kept supplying "their" stores last Friday and Saturday in key markets. Come Sunday no more phones...

You will be in Alaska this afternoon and if and that is if they had Saturday delivery you would have the phone tomorrow AM.

You were right. It arrived in Anchorage at 12:49pm and cleared customs at 1:03pm. Do you think it's possible that I could get it tomorrow morning?

Absolutely possible but no way to tell and no way to find out until it hits a truck in your market. Where is yours coming to?
Mine left Alaska around 4pm Alaska time but it took a while to post on Fedex tracking.
