You aren't seeing the cutout, you're seeing the back of the black plastic that's been molded into the cutout. The inside of the iPad 4 looks the same way:

This.

I was trying to think of a way to explain it and then i refreshed and saw this. :)

And as always, Apple will praise the "stunning, new design" of the iPad 5 - even though the entire Apple community can obviously see it's based off the iPad mini.

I'll bet you that they won't try to pass it off as a brand new design...

Yikes, I would hate to have your view on life.

It was always an aluminium shell... or what are you talking about?

well yeah I know, but with all the coverage of the iPhone 5C a.k.a the cheap or crap, plastic and colorful shell kinda makes my eyes dull, thats all :D

Which they also invented, so what's the problem with that?
Hmmm, where's the 12" version with Wacom stylus? Would even be happy with a stylus on the existing size retina display. A stylus option is the last thing required to complete the iPad picture.

Depends. I wonder how other people at Apple felt about SJ's absolutely no stylus rule.

All I can think is that Apple wants to use the swipe to the right gesture from now on, thats why they need that narrow border in portrait position.

I think that the whole "No stylus" thing was about not creating a user interface that relied on a stylus to be used well.

Taking the perfectly finger-friendly iPad interface and adding pressure sensitive pen support specifically for art and note use would make a lot of sense.

No need for a flash. No one sane takes pictures with iPads.

No one sane says that no one sane takes pictures with iPads.

Decent camera, very powerful processor and big screen for photo editing, perfect for taking pictures and editing them on the go.

If other companies get praise for "stunning new designs" based on older Apple products, why can't Apple?

I wish they'd put a speaker on the top and maybe point them more forward so when in landscape orientation you get stereo sound

I'm only concerned with what the A7(x) brings to the table. iPad seems to be lagging pretty far behind all the recent announcements, and their souped up internals.

Indeed.
