Guys the Apple Vision Pro is not that expensive! A fully loaded M3 MacBook Pro is $7,199.00! Admit it, you guys are just not early adopters!

I fully admit that I'm not on an early adopter, and for some things, I'm a never adopter.

I would never buy a $7k MacBook either, because I have zero use for one. My $1500 M1 Air does everything I need, and more. Most people don't buy a decked-out MacBook and the Air is the most popular MacBook, by far.

The comments make me feel like I’m on Reddit where apparently 99% of people are one missing paycheck away from being homeless and have $5 to their name. Guess what, this device is not meant for the average Joe that still uses an iPhone SE, Apple Watch SE and some AirPods 1, this device is meant for people that are really into tech, people interested in experiencing something new and are willing to spend some money on that experience and generally people who like to be first adopters of something new.
This device will 100% sell out in minutes and Apple knows that, there is a reason it’s US only for now and then some other countries at the end of the year. They probably can’t manufacture enough devices for a global release just in time.

Also people need to start learning the difference between *expensive* and *overpriced*. Is the Vision Pro expensive? It sure is. Is it overpriced tho? No, Apple literally packed the best available tech possible in this device, every person who tried the device said that they never ever used something so perfect like the Vision Pro. And they surely know it better than some random person on the forum who thinks they know everything without ever using the device.

Maybe down the road there will be an Apple Vision Pro Air that is much cheaper and lighter! But Apple is not going to start with that!

What’s more interesting is how many of those units will still be used after a year.

Guys it will evolve over time like all other tech! You will just trade it in and get the next version that is lighter and faster and more powerful! The World does not just stand still you know! I bet Apple will give $1000 for the trade in too!

You mean, like how iPhones have been getting lighter and have been getting a longer battery life each year? Yeah, I’m not holding my breath.

No, the suggestion is that it's cost vs. usage; the math doesn't work out for most people. Same reason I drive a regular car vs. a sportscar. A Porsche Cayenne might be more powerful, a better ride, and more luxurious than my VW, but it's not worth it to me, even though I can afford it.

Then why is anyone thinking it's going to be a mass-market device? The Studio Display isn't mass market, the iPad Pro isn't mass market, desktop Macs aren't mass market (compared to laptops).

This a niche device for a niche audience, especially at the price they are asking.
I think this is expected to do Mac Pro or Studio display numbers. It's niche. i think people keep talking like it's an iPhone but its just not ever likely to be.

I thought Apple Fan Boys bought anything that Apple produced? I'm confused now.

Apple has already admitted that they’re constraining production of the device to around 450k in the initial release. That's all about creating the artificial appearance of overwhelming demand. It’s also a comment on Apple’s lack of confidence in the device IMO.

Maybe because it is hard to make? Ever think of that? And that number has been revised to around 500K! It is the first one guys! The first iPhone did not sell like today's iPhone either.

Yes I have, as does every single other person who will or won't be buying this. That is what a consumer does.
Are you saying that you have no idea whether it has enough value to justify its price to others?

No one is suggesting this. It’s too expensive period. Most people don’t have $3500 plus tax to spend on a luxurious and unnecessary item. Apple Watch Edition gold for $10k is a good analogy - see how well that sold.

Yes and no. The issue with Vision Pro is the value proposition. At the moment it doesn’t appear to offer enough value to justify that price. It remains to be seen if anyone will actually use it on a regular basis beyond the first couple months or so and we haven’t been shown a killer app and or use for it yet. In fact, what we’ve seen is a lot of downside and a headset that isn’t really that far from what other VR makers are already doing. Apple has failed so far to show us why it’s worth 3.5k base.

I hear ya bro!

Just like iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods... Flop, flop, flop, flop, flop, flop... as predicted by many here.

This is a fun game!

Lisa, Apple III, Macintosh TV, Newton Message Pad, eWorld, Pippin, eMate, the round mouse, iPod HiFi… success, success, success, success, success, success, success, success, success… as predicted by many Apple fans at the time.
