I ordered My UTD on August 24th. It still hasnt changed status, not shipped yet. The card has been charged.
After reading this massive thread, I thought I would place another order for a UTD disc just to see what would happen. To my amazement, I got a different delivery date. Not a Ships by date as the first UTD.

You: I'm sure you've been asked this a million times tonight, but there is a lot of conflicting information floating aroung on the macrumors forum about whether Up-to-date customers will be receiving SL tomorrow on launch day or not. People seems to be getting very different answers from Apple reps. I was hoping to clear this up.

On the 24th, I simply went to the UTD website, clicked the link, it asked me to log in with my user id. I did. And it had the info from my recent mini purchase(recent being It was just shipped on the 24). I didnt have to input the serial number or anything from the mini. It asked for the credit card info, and away it went. It charged the card yesterday.
Tonight, I went back to the same UTD website, clicked the link, logged in, this time I had to go through the enter your serial number, which I had recieved the mini last night, and so I input it in, along with credit card info and away it went creating a different order. No charge has been charged yet, but its early for the second one...

Bummer... Canadian $35 SL will be delivered on August 31... Now that is sad. BTW, I live in B.C, Canada. Any other Canadians having their order delivered tomorrow? I feel cheap out by Apple 
Ordered Mac Box Set on 26th
Confirmed Fed Ex delivery on the 28th.
I did notice when I originally ordered the upgrade for 29.00 it said Sep 1-5th for delivery. I guess the more expensive purchases get priority shipment- overnight. I decided to upgrade work and life at the same time.

I had to fax mine in since the Up-to-date program wasn't working (I bought my mac online and when I logged in it would just go to an empty shopping cart). Apple mailed me asking for a receipt so I mailed that in and a few days later it showed that they received it.
Mine says shipped on 26 August. Luckily, from what I can make out, the postal strike wont strike cheshire so i might get it today, if you look out for a long and lengthy review
Now that the printer and software incompatibilities are listed, plus with all the positive reviews I am ready to upgrade today

Sitting around killing time, turns out I couldn't hear when the courier arrived and rang the door bell.
Anywho, installing now.

Couldn't we just buy it in-store and then return the one that comes in the mail (when it comes) to the store with the receipt from the one we bought?
Does the up-to-date come with the regular packaging?

I doubt it. Actually, the Product Numbers for the UTD and for the normal upgrade are different (MC204Z/A vs. MC223Z/A). I suspect we will be getting the plain disk like the one that comes with a new mac.
