I wonder what logic they used in deciding to screw the UTD people.

1) it costs 1/3
2) they already bought the laptop so **** them
3) they at least already have a recent working OS
4) doesn't look as bad with the pending charge

Just wait till the regular postal mail arrives. I've lived through a bunch of these Apple releases and they've always been excellent at meeting projected delivery dates. :eek:
 
when you go onto the apple website to get your tracking number of SL, you click the link and it goes to the main purolator page, just type or paste your tracking number into the PIN field, and it should come up with the information.

i ordered mine on tuesday of this week and i selected the free shipping method. i have been reading here that it shipped yesterday and should deliever today. so if its in toronto right now or 3 hrs ago, than that means it should come today???

That's true, if it's in Toronto at 5am EST it's entirely possible it could be on a plane by say 6am.. 2-3hr flight out your way, gets there by 7am local time for you, and on the truck for delivery. My fingers are crossed for you :)

I ordered the first day I was able to ...aug 2nd!


now it says it will show up on the second of sept..

im going to go to an apple store and see if i can buy a copy and then return what comes in the mail next week..

Same here, I might just pay the 29 for the in store version and return the up to date.
 
I'm pretty pissed. I preordered via the utd program thinking it'd be the same as the iPhone 3GS...you get in on the day of launch. Mine still says not yet shipped and "ships by august 28th"

bad mood.
 
Has ANYONE who ordered their Snow Leopard from the Up To Date program received it today?

If so, is it in a retail package or just a disk???


I am sorta frustrated with Apple too. I mean, I bought a brand new Mac after they announced Snow Leopard, and I think all of us who bought a new Mac deserve our disks FIRST! I paid over $2,000, and I am being treated worse than someone who ordered the dang disk for $29 preorder! THAT IS WRONG!!!

dude, you have no idea how much i am praying at work right now! waiting for my parents to call and be like: brown accent = "PACKAGE HAS ARRIVED, THANK YOU COME AGAIN" HAHAHAHA

I hope this is true...i hate waiting around like this not knowing whats happening, and getting two different lines of information from the reps.

I was told that my order would arrive on 28th by chat rep. (UTD)
She said that the system is slow and isn't updating the order status.
 
Looks like it's not going to be here for me today - still, there's always the post tomorrow. Spent a profitable hour undertaking my first Archive and Install which worked flawlessly. So I'm all set...

all i did was clean up the unwanted files, and backed everything up via time machine :)
ready to do a SL install!

let me guess? Your copy has either arrived or is being FedExed to you as you speak. Look at it through a different perspective.

Edit: And even if it isn't why take sides with Apple all the time.
 
Im in Toronto and mine hasn't even shipped yet! It doesn't even say "prepared for shipment". Anyone else in Toronto experiencing this? I got the UTD. I ordered in June.
 
It's almost here!! I can't wait and I hope they don't wait until the last minute at 3PM.

Mine has shipped and says Delivers September 1st. Isn't it great to have the best customer relations company on my side. They really care.

What I'd do to actually KNOW mine was coming today, no matter how late it came. As far as mine is concerned, it's been in transit for 27 hours yet it hasn't been scanned at all. Who the hell knows where mine is :confused:

Well here it is, the OFFICIAL word from Apple Store Manager on UTD Orders....

I called to check up on my UTD order placed on 6/18 and I first talked to a CSR that said due to this being a UTD order it will ship today. I then asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to him, and he was saying that there is confusion in the wording. All UTD orders will not receive theirs today due to two items:
1.) Our orders say ships BY 8/28... not DELIVERS on 8/28
2.) Because Apple is fulfilling their end of the UTD program by offering us a cheaper discounted version, and when we placed our orders for the program stated that Leopard would be shipping in September and therefore we would
be receiving our orders in September.

***FORGOT TO MENTION: He said that the UTD orders COULD NOT be cancelled and they COULD NOT be returned!!!! WTF!!!???***

He apologized repeatedly for the confusion and for the CSR's telling all of the UTD people that they would be receiving SL on 8/28, he then went on to offer a coupon for the online apple store, which I refused I just wanted my order that I placed and for my $2000 computer to be able to have the chance to run the most current OS when it is realeased like everyone else. I also stated that I hope that ALL OF THE UTD people that ordered and did not receive it bombard them with complaints and I hope they suffer severe public backlash for this. Bottom line is AN APPLE ORDER IS AN APPLE ORDER, and then at that we ordered first regardless of price, so why can they not ensure we have our SL OS in hand the same day it is available to the public. THIS PURE BAD BUSINESS IN EVERYASPECT. I encourage all UTD personnel call and flood customer service with complaints and force the hand of apple to make this right.
