Im from Toronto, and mine hasn't even "prepared for shipment". I got UTD in June.
It seems to me that Apple is getting everyone, who pre-ordered before Wednesday, their orders Today. While we up-to-date people who ordered in June have to wait longer. That is not fair. Oh well i'm glad I stole their software and got it early. and the next time they release a new OS I will steal it again and not even bother to order it. That's what they deserve.
Something tells me most (if not all) the UTD people are in the same boat. I ordered mine in July, still hasn't shipped.

My hope is dead.. Had it sent to my work but I'm out of here in less than an hour. PuroLATER usually delivers in the morning here.

fuel for thought. My UTD also just shipped. Not scheduled to arrive until Sept. 2nd. I am anxious and wondering if I go to Best Buy and buy the $25 version, will I be able to SELL the UTD version when it arrives??? Or is the UTD version online capable of working on MY system??
I would think you would be able to sell it on eBay, but from what I heard the UTD doesn't come with the retail packaging (true? false?) so buyers might be wary of buying a disk, without the packaging, like most sensible people would as well.

Seems like Apple is giving priority to those that paid $29, or the family pack or the higher prices. Those who did the up-to-date months ago haven't shipped yet, it seems, since you paid $9...
the world doesn't revolve around you. i think you're happy to have found a reason to be a cheap pirate. it costs apple a load of money to make software and by your logic, you should get their software for free because they failed to deliver SL a couple days earlier. (btw, im part of the UTD program too and won't be receiving my copy today)
I'm saying that I think that Apple is seriously lacking in he shipping order update area for the people that ordered the UTD. I'm sure their number one priorty is their full paying customers ordering the full $29 price.
Downloading a pirated copy while yours in in the mail (after the date is was promised) isn't a big deal IMO. He already bought a licensed copy...Apple just failed to deliver it on time. Most software companies allow you to download their software for free online anyway - it's the license you are paying for and he already did that.
still illegal no matter how you attempt to justify it. it's thinking like that which will force apple to do activations like microsoft.
If you had actually bothered to read the thread you would have seen that I had already preordered it back in June, so i didn't steal anything.
Let them do activations does it matter? If you bought the software then it wouldn't be a problem.
Yes, it would be a problem...a huge PITA. Have you never used a M$ or Adobe product with their 1 billion character codes. Miss type just one and pain city, you get to type it all over again. Then their are the nags if you installed one too many times. And if you've ever had to re-install for family/friends who inevitably lose their activation number on Day One. Bah! Activations are an abomination. I just love the fact I can pop in OS X and install w/o any hassle.
Well there's still hope for those in Ontario, Canada. Mine just arrived with Purolator and I live near Owen Sound.
so 5am on purolator said it had arrived in toronto, so guessing 3am my time since i am 2 hrs behind them. it is 2:12pm in the afternoon, so 4:12pm in toronto and no update on the website!!!
