Snow Leopard Shipping? [merged]

I've got to say that I'm disappointed that Apple are shipping many US orders via overnight delivery, while the UK (who have had to pay $40) gets theirs delivered by Royal Mail (who aren't coping atm due to strike action and are normally slow and unreliable anyway) which takes 3 days.
I just got my copy of SL about 1 pm in California. The FedEx driver said he had alot of them going out today and the boss was on them to make sure they get out by 3 pm.
so i just got off the phone with purolator and was told that it is 3 day ground from ontario to alberta!!!
BOOOOO, i mine as well just go and get it from the apple store tonight and install it, then when it arrives, send back to shipper!

Technically we paid a whole lot more than $9.95. The UTD customers (such as myself) bought a new Mac recently so that's a whole new sale for Apple vs. people who are buying the $29 version who have older Macs. Nobody should have priority over the other. Apple does this crap every time a new OS comes out and I know because I always buy a new Mac right at the time of a new OS launch and the UTD's are always delivered days after other people who paid full price. SUX.
I ordered through UTD and my status just updated to shipped with a September 1 delivery date. What's odd is that it shipped yesterday, but the site didn't update until now. It's sent USPS.
Yup. The same exact thing happened to me. It just barely updated a couple of hours ago, even though it shipped yesterday.
It's not illegal to download something you already own, but it *IS* illegal to share the download with other people (who may not own it already). By using Bittorrent, you're probably uploading AND downloading. So yes, torrenting software you own is still illegal.
I got mail from Apple today, unfortunatley it was just the rebate checks for the iPod Touch and printer lol..........

what???? they choose to send it ground around canada.. ridiculous! Might do the same as you... it's in stock at the local Future shop!
I KNOW none of you are expecting a HUGE upgrade but my impression is... eh. It seems maybe a LITTLE quicker running in 64-bit but not much. My printer isn't compatible which SUCKS and Firefox takes forever to launch. So all-in-all. Eh.
I got a promotional Snow Leopard email from Apple on Monday, stating that if I ordered by 11:59pm on Wednesday (normal, not Up-To-Date), that I would receive it today. Well, I ordered at 5:30pm, and nothing today. It hasn't even shipped yet.
Way to go Apple, you dropped the ball on this one. I leave for school in a few days, and I would like to have everything updated before I go...

God some of you are absolutely pathetic...WAAAHHHH, I have to wait 3 more days...WAAHHHHH. Get a life, try stepping outside this weekend.
Backup plan: Download it from the Internets. Be a leecher and not seed. Install on MBP. Unbox video of the SL UTD disc when it comes Sept 1.

I don't think anyone here gives a rats a$$ about having to wait a few more days or even another week, it's about Apple selectively shipping the $29 version before the UTD orders. Most people (including myself) ordered back in June when we bought our new Macs and we are getting our order shipped days after people who ordered the $29 version 2 days ago.

If someone paid you $9 vs. $29 vs $149, who would you ship to first and who is last?

Retail ($29 with free shipping) orders were overnighted via FedEx on 8/27
