i wasn't joking, I was being serious. After browsing some of these posts it almost makes me realize how good my life really is!
I agree that a lot of us are impatient. But it would be a LOT easier to take the weekend and do a clean install and get everything working correctly than to worry about it on a weeknight next week. That's all.

I don't think anyone here gives a rats a$$ about having to wait a few more days or even another week, it's about Apple selectively shipping the $29 version before the UTD orders. Most people (including myself) ordered back in June when we bought our new Macs and we are getting our order shipped days after people who ordered the $29 version 2 days ago.
I know, I have to wait until Sept. 1 myself. I'm not crying on the internet telling people they should call Apple and bitch like this person did in this thread...

Just got mine delivered and installation took 18 min! .
Bad trade off is that I temporarily lost iStat Menus functionality. But a minor detail since I know the developer has addressed the issue and is working to bring it up to speed.

I was told this morning by an Apple agent it would arrive today because UTD and retail were all treated the same, box and shipping. Guess not.

Two things bother me about the situation. Up to Date orders could've been placed months ago, therefore they should've been prepared to ship them on time.
Two, they told us that since we bought a mac recently, we wouldn't have to pay for the OS. Only $9.95 for shipping.
So its not $9.95 vs. $29 vs. $149 (or shouldn't be).
People who paid $9.95 for shipping get the OS late.
Peope who paid nothing for shipping get the OS on time.
Why the **** do you care if you paid for shipping or if you didn't pay for shipping. The price was 20 dollars less. I understand being a bit upset about not getting your copy on time, but stop screaming about paying for shipping and getting a FREE copy vs. paying for a copy and getting FREE shipping.

For what's its worth, I received an email stating it "Delivers by 1 Sept". So who knows, maybe it will show up on Saturday. Frankly, I'm having fun reading all the issues on the Apple Discussions Forum.

Relax guys (I know, its bull****) but SL isn't even that big a deal. Instead of waiting for my UTD disc, I went and bought it. I should have waited. Lexmark won't have drivers for my printer until next week anyway.

Me neither. I believe this is a conspiracy - they are posting this as the status so that it fulfills the "ship by aug 28" thing. But in fact, it hasn't been shipped cause there's no tracking #.

I, being that I run a company that has to ship stuff everyday, ship in the order received. USPS Express Mail Flat Rate Envelope is $12.30 with insurance to anywhere in the US.....charge me $12.30 and you have a much happier customer base.
You're argument is terrible. Honor those who paid you the money first. The way some people think really confuses me.....I'm glad you aren't in charge of shipping for Apple, no one would have it today as $149 isn't an option with Snow Leopard....guess the $29.95 folks would be SOL if you were in charge....
