It appears UPS may be having iPhone XS and XS Max shipping issues in the United States as several MacRumors readers are reporting that their UPS tracking information was recently updated with a Monday delivery date instead of a Friday delivery date.

Affected customers seem to have tracking information that indicates their iPhone orders are located in or have just departed Anchorage, Alaska. Those who have had their shipping dates change seem to have ordered 256GB and 512GB iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max models.

These customers were expecting to get their iPhone deliveries on Friday, September 21, aka launch day before receiving the updated September 24 delivery date from UPS.

It's possible that the delay listed on the UPS tracking site is in error and that the iPhones will still be delivered on Friday, but some customers may be waiting until Monday to receive their new devices. One Twitter user told us that he spoke to a UPS representative who said that it's a computer error and the iPhones are still on track for Friday delivery.

The first customers in Australia, New Zealand, and across Asia who ordered one of the new devices have already started receiving shipments. Deliveries are set to start in a few hours in Europe before expanding to the United States.

Mine was sitting in Alaska this morning but was in and out of Kentucky by this afternoon and just arrived at my local UPS Facility tonight. I hope people affected by this get theirs tomorrow on time!!

In all my years, UPS has been - by far - the least dependable courier of them all. Constant "delivery exceptions" - always when it's warm, sunny and without traffic incidents - damaged packages, and packages delivered to the wrong address. Every time I place an order online I say a little prayer that they are not the courier.

Thankfully my iPhone Xs is coming via FedEx. Then again, they haven't been much better in my experience. I pray for us all to get our deliveries before the weekend.
UPS has ALWAYS been terrible in my neighborhood....FedEx any day

My package left China on 9/20, arrived in AK on 9/19. I understand that China is a day ahead. But, I thought UPS always showed dates/times based on time zone of user. I could be wrong.
Does your tracking look that way? Maybe the difference has their system messed up...
No, it actually always shows the time zone based on the location its reporting from

So after a nice talk with UPS. She passed me this info! She told me to completely disregard the tracking on the website. They are having technical issues with Apple and Tracking. She told me my package left Kentucky at 3:10pm today and was on a plane to Denver. It will be delivered tomorrow. All this delayed shipment stuff floating around is a glitch. So hold on to hope my fellow macrumors members!

Edit mine shows stuck in China hence me calling

Grrrrr so mad, I'm in the same boat

Mine left AK at 8:52am. I'm guessing hasn't gotten scanned in Louisville yet. I'm in Louisville, so I'm still expecting it tomorrow.

Worst case scenario, you can meet me at the CC on Outer Loop tomorrow and we can pick ours up there!! If they don't make the truck for delivery, they should be available after they open.

Before I saw this I called UPS and they said that their system still showed delivery for tomorrow, and apologized for the conflicting info. Hopefully they are right and it’s still on track for a delivery tomorrow

My phone is still in China, with no delivery date. It's delivering to San Francisco in California. Is anyone else seeing anything similar?

(I preordered mine at midnight on the first night that preorders were available)

Mine shows the same...

I used to live in an apartment building that the local FedEx guy would regularly just skip on Fridays, I guess because he wanted to go home early? He'd say no one was home when there was a staffed office to receive packages.

It’s probably unrelated, but I was originally supposed to get a pair of sneakers from UPS today and they changed it to tomorrow.

Probably just UPS being UPS.

As of 8;00 pm local time, mine still says delivery on Friday the 21st. But Apple should quit trying to be cute and stage things so everyone in a country gets the item the same day. If it's that important then either develop their own delivery service (damn expensive) or get them to a warehouse in the country first, then distribute. Or spread them out over a couple of days until you have a reliable delivery system to deliver massive numbers of phones in a single day. It's not worth the bad press of people complaining about not getting the phone when promised.

I hope they never attempt to make their own delivery service. Amazon did this and it’s the worst thing ever. It single handedly made me cancel my prime subscription I’d had for 12 years.

I do agree that Apple shouldn’t be so concerned about the release date delivery. Ship them a week or so before release date and they deliver when they deliver.

Anyone else have their watch date change to Thursday Sept. 20, today!!! Somehow I don’t see that happening. Between that date and my XS now saying Monday, the average puts tomorrow (well not exactly, but close enough)

Is yours showing still in Shenzhen? That’s what mine says.

Mine both say monday to now... which sucks cause im at school all monday. I would have just waited in Line overnight for the phone....

Question: I tried to change the delivery to pick it up at the UPS hub in the morning like I usually do and it doesn't show the hubs anymore? Is this new ? if so what do I do?

I just called UPS and they said my phone is en route to Kentucky then moving to Charlotte. On his end he still shows a 9/21 date and said disregard the website
