Apparently you don't remember the Windows 95 launch.

This is a mac forum and this thread about mobileme. Who cares about windows or microsoft. Mobileme currently is a load of crap. Me thinks the mobileme software is suffering scalability issues.

The person I replied to stated "Worst Product Launch Ever". Since he didn't state "WORST APPLE PRODUCT LAUNCH EVER" it's only fair to compare his statement to other launches. Quit being a tool.

I have this issue on my Wife's .mac account, both using OSX mail and mobileme webmail. 4 days now, bad bad bad. Especially when you couple this with an extremely buggy version of iTunes 7.7, it takes an age for iPods to appear, see Apple discussions for several threads on that one. And I won't even mention the launch issues on the iPhone 3G.

What the heck were they thinking, talk about over extending themselves, this is the latest in a string of underwhelming releases from Apple which started with Leopard and has been getting steadily worse.

I used their support site AND wrote a letter to Steve Jobs on Sunday.

Still nothing.

I'm incredibly angry and embarrassed for them.

oh they updated their message, slightly:

"1% of MobileMe members cannot access MobileMe Mail. Service will be restored ASAP. We apologize for any inconvenience. "

I guess that little added 'ASAP' is supposed to make us feel better.

They updated their message again ...

"99% of MobileMe users are fed up with the constant outages".

I hope the MobileFAIL project manager has his/her resume on Monster.com.

It says "2%" now. Looks like the mail failure is going exponential

EDIT: It's gone back down to "1%" again. These figures seem really dodgy.

i haven't been able to access mobileme e-mail for a few days now. mail.app, webmail, and iphone. so much for being an itools member since may 2000... :(

100% or 1 %

Among my extended family, we have numerous dotMac/Mobile me accounts. The past 12 hours we have had a 100% failure on MM.

Some of my accounts have ben FUBAR since days 1 issues, some for the past 5 days and all as of last night.

I suspect the 1% is growing based on the Apple discussion boards and the posts here ar MacRumors.

This has got to be the most unstable email service I have ever come across. Email isn't working today.

Again.

Either the 1 percent figure is a gross underestimate or an unusually high percentage of those with mail problems happen to read MacRumors...

I've been able to get mail on my computer (erratically) but not access it via the cloud. Now it's white screening and not collecting mail even on my computer. Long time dotmac user - not received an apology or the 30 day extension, aside from the general flakiness of the whole service and the appalling lack of support. If I'd signed up for the trial I'd have cancelled by now.

This is really, really poor. I am a paid up member and have never experienced such a shoddy email service. I'm not going to renew the subscription this year and although it will be a pain to change email addresses, it will be worth it to be away from this lot.

well i was ok until this morning about an hour ago, now i'm locked out of mail, iphone and me.com. Strangely, though I have mail set to download and keep mail for offline viewing, my email has now disappeared which is even more infuriating.
And if i change the incoming mail server to mail.me.com it just defaults back to mail.mac.com?

I have written a feedback email to apple but thought i would add my two cents here too.

All 3 of my .mac/mobile me accounts are down as of this morning. They'd been pretty much OK since the launch until now. :(

They need to get this fixed. This has got to be affecting more than "1% of mobile me users".

Oh, and I'm still waiting for my extra 30 days to show up on my account.

mail down

For the first time since launch, my mail is also down: the page loads but blank. Contacts, galleries, ical work. hm.

It's very annoying not being able to send or receive mail during my vacation,
but it would be a disaster if I was not on vacation.

Same for me, everything was fine until this morning, now I can't get mail at all. Started to wonder if it's because I got my new iMac yesterday and set that up for MM. It was all fine when I was just using iPhone and Outlook. I guess if others are now experiencing problems from this morning then that isn't the case.

mobileme mail completely disapppeared for me a couple of hours ago but has just reappeared, push email has started working over the last few days. Calendar syncing is buggy but mostly works. I've given up on contact syncing since it seems to slow down my iPhone contacts app even more than normal. When it works it's really lovely, but these outages are very frustrating.

Mine was working as advertised until this morning. Now, no push e-mail, and e-mail messages to the mobileme desktop are being delayed I just get a blank page.

Thankfully neither @mac nor @me are my primary address and I forward to Me and Google, so I can still read and reply to my emails.

Yeah, same here, mail back up for me - and mail now works in MobileMe, which it didn't before (i.e I can now read and send from the cloud, whereas before I could just see my messages but not read them or write anything).

Still DOA

Well, 7:15 AM EST and still DOA for me.

I would write Steve an email, but I CAN'T. I am sure Apple has sent out another eBlast saying how sorry they are, but 99% of us still can't read it.

I can appreciate glitches, server issues, etc. But the lack of any communication, the lack of a web site to explain to paying customers what is up and the lack of a phone message when you call is unacceptable. At the minimum they should have a redirect to the site with a simple, yet updated status.

At present, I cannot even access the www.mac.com or www.me.com site to see the status.
