Is anyone else experiencing an issue where you do not have the option to hold for pickup at a UPS CC? I only have the option to deliver to another address.

Sprint says that option is only available after a first attempt at delivery. My UPS guy doesn’t deliver until around 8pm. Was hoping to get the phone sooner.

Thanks in advance.

That's a general rule with all ups deliveries..an attempt must be made before it can be held at a ups facility.

Do I need to be home to sign for UPS?

Don’t do ups store they have to deliver it to the store and they usually don’t deliver to the store until late in the day

I did that with my watch because I "missed the delivery" around 2 WHILE I WAS SITTING IN MY LIVING ROOM
The ups store closes at 8. I was there until about 8:45 with all the other sheeple waiting for phones and watches.

I think you have to just wait until it actually moves to the center that will deliver it then you can ask the to hold it

I would just get the premium ups my choice and get confirmed delivery window they have a free code for a month somewhere on the web

Really? Tons of posts here about people having UPS hold their phones at the UPS CC so they can pick up first thing Friday morning. I’m not trying to pick it up any earlier than Friday. Just don’t want to wait til 8pm.

Figured I'd give this a try as it's new to me since I've never preordered. Been reading this thread lately and have noticed some have already received a shipping confirmation and tracking numbers.

I was finally able to preorder around 2 p.m. CT on 10/27 after attempting to do it numerous times online at 2 a.m. CT to no avail. My order is still in the pending shipping status, so I reached out to Sprint via chat and was told iPhones will be received by Sprint on 11/3 and then they'll be distributed. This doesn't make sense, as many of you have already had your phones shipped.

Wondering if I was given faulty information and wanted to see if anyone else had the same response from Sprint. Thanks in advance.

What year do you know someone that got to go to Ups or Fedex & get their phone before anyone...... apple has strict rules on release they sign contracts with ups/fedex regarding release holds priot to launch dates/ time frames

I hope this isn’t the case...I think that most of us assume that the carriers do already have some of the phones in the US..as those of us with shipping have been generated a label that says awaiting pick up by ups.

The chat reps OFTEN don’t know what they are talking about. Lots of phones have been sitting in the Kentucky warehouse for quite a while, they will be shipped so the stores will have some for walk-ins on Friday morning and shipped to customers for pick up at the store and delivery at their houses. Sprint has had them for a while that’s how they know how many orders they can fill on Friday.

That’s what I initially thought, but my curiosity got the best of me so I reached out via chat. I’ll probably see some movement on it tomorrow — at least I hope!

Good point. I’ll stay off the chat. Ended up with more questions than answers, lol. Even told the CS rep that some people have already gotten tracking numbers, but she maintained the devices would be shipped 11/3. You would think Sprint would keep its employees current on info.

I’m not sure you’re understanding my posts. How is picking up the phone on 11/3 (the day it’s scheduled to arrive) getting it before everyone else?? I have (in the past) had my phone held at a UPS customer center and picked it up around 9am on launch day. Now the option is greyed out. That is my point.

I am scheduled to receive the phone on 11/3 but my UPS guy delivers around 8pm at night and I was hoping to get the phone earlier THAT SAME DAY. Just wondering why this year Sprint isn’t allowing me this option when I see others posting they are able to do the same.

I think that option is available only after ups picks up. I could be wrong

Soooo... I pre-ordered 2 more... but with Verizon. Verizon is showing 12/1 for delivery. My X with Sprint will be here Friday. I guess I'll send back my 8 Plus, use my Sprint X until my Verizon Xs get here, and say goodbye to Sprint. Then I'll have to figure out what to do with my Sprint X and the 8 Plus my husband has. I guess I can sell them, then pay them off, or ask Sprint where I can send them to cancel my service. I doubt they'll allow me to send them back to cancel service, since both will be well past the 14 day return period.

I've had Sprint since January of 2014, and it's been decent, but only decent. I travel a lot in rural areas, and I end up roaming on Verizon quite a lot away from home. Data is mostly unusable when roaming, and changes to the new plans limits it to 100mb, which doesn't matter much when it's barely usable. Another factor to help with this decision is the fact I was charged $30 upgrade fee for my husband's 8 Plus, when the website said it would be waived. I'll be making another call today to Executive Support to complain about the charge. I've had nothing but hassles with purchases and pre-orders since I switched to Sprint. It'll be worth paying a couple dollars more per month with Verizon (after my 15% Uber discount), than continuing to deal with Sprint's subpar service all around.

Ugh. Good luck with that. I only escaped Sprint's clutches after a few weeks of horrible LTE coverage and not being able to receive calls from certain local landlines AFTER my husband wrote the FCC and BBB. THAT triggered an almost immediate response from someone at Sprint corporate. Even then it took a prolonged negotiation and waiting game to get a graceful exit orchestrated.

Don’t blame you there. Sprint’s data service is pretty subpar. However just wanted to warn you. If you paid for the X using Sprints Flex or upgrade programs you signed a two year contract and may not know it. So you can be charged early termination fees on top of the cost of the phone. If you’re planning on leaving you might just want to return the Sprint phone when it arrives.

I do understand your frustration. I have to stick with Sprint as I live in a rural area and they offer the best service in my area. Verizon is the next best but still falls a bit behind Sprint. I don't even attempt to call Sprint support anymore. I am fortunate to have a Sprint company store close. I can't say enough how wonderful they are. When I got my AW3 the phone support had no idea how to get it setup or what I was talking about. After three frustrating calls which included talking to senior supervisors and techs, I finally went to the Sprint store (30 minute drive) and in ten minutes the guy had it up and receiving calls without the iphone. I have also had billing issues that I could not get fixed using phone support but five minutes at the store and I was good to go.

I wish you luck getting yourself all switched around. That looks like a nightmare to me.

Nowhere does it mention I'm on a contract, only for the devices. If they try that, they'll be in for a legal battle. I haven't had a contract with Sprint since my iPhone 6 on device installments on the Framily Plan. Even Verizon isn't sticking me with a contract for service.

I'll put it this way: I'm on a contract for the devices ONLY. They have to be paid off to cancel service. That's it. I think you're confusing the device contract as a service contract, which it isn't.

I just ordered the iPhone X and Sprint allowed me to return my 8+ I got on its launch day with no penalties. For the X I have an expected delivery day of the 14th
