I read all the Novels. To me that’s the legacy of the SW universe.
Agreed. There are a lot of good books out there and would love to see some of them become movies.

Agreed. Doesn’t fit Disney’s model thoughAgreed. There are a lot of good books out there and would love to see some of them become movies.
I don’t think thAt the movie itself was so bad nor the guy that played Solo. However, in every frame of the film I thought “There’s no way that that portly, yuppie, trust babe comes within a million miles of looking a young, hand to mouth streetwise Hans Solo.”.And Solo was terrible.
Episodes 1-9 were always in the same universe. Im sure the next trilogy will have new characters.I too wish they would have gone this route. There is so much out there they could have used, or heck give us something new in the universe and not a re-hash of Ep4 with Ep7 only to follow up with the monstrosity known as 8. That is my opinion.
Rogue One is one of my favorites and I am excited to see "The Mandalorian".

On December 18 through 19, AMC theaters will be showing all 9 episodes in a 27-hour marathon:

Well looks like they have been watching GoT...

Hopefully the writers will be better than the latest trilogy mess. I liked Ewan in the first trilogy disaster, The real problem is these movies made a lot of money so Disney actually thinks they have been doing a great job. ☹Well, we'll have an Obi-Wan Kenobi series with Ewan again, so Yay!🥳
As far as 9? Oh, okay.

Except that George Lucas had already made that decision by the time he made the prequel trilogy. They made a business decision that Star Wars and marvel are kid movies.
iron man, cap America, Thor, hulk, etc are now the boy equivalent of the Disney princesses.
and Star Wars ep 7-9 made for boys and girls in the new #metoo world....... Rey is all about being a hero for you girls, not for the old dudes that loved Darth Vader in the 1980’s.
What Star Wars television do you have in mind?Yes, "this story group" needs to learn exactly what stories AND relatable characters are. To say nothing of understanding the Star Wars universe. They need to feed these people to the Sarlaac, and hire some of the current SW comic writers (especially Charles Soule who has penned some excellent in universe comic series and is about to embark upon fleshing out Kylo Ren's past (since no one in the movies has done much with that. Not that I care.).
It's not just writing (though really TLJ was a first draft script. That's how desperate LFL was to rush that out), it's the editing and the direction too. I am not going to fault the actors because there are some excellent people cast here.
Tangent: WTF with Abrams & Johnson and John Boyega though? John Boyega is wonderfully talented (ditto Oscar Issac) and their characterizations are freaking awful. Finn had a great premise (defecting storm trooper) and then he became love sick, nervous, awful comedy relief. Why couldn't he be Force sensitive too?
I can say right now I am skipping any SW movies Rian Johnson makes (or any movies really. Wasn't a fan prior to The Last Jedi and I am not one now).
I do not want Rogue One to be the fluke very good Star Wars movie from today's LFL.
Honestly, I couldn't care less about Episode 9 though I'll probably go with a friend because she's a SW fan who isn't nearly as picky as moi. If 9 is as crap as these last two, I'll blissfully forget it as soon as I walk out of the theatre.
Okay, SW telly:
Obi-Wan series: With Ewan on board, I don't care about anything else at this point re: Kenobi series (except I hope it's not based on the novel Kenobi (as Obi-Wan was barely in the book)).
I think Star Wars television is far more interesting right now than the movies.
Oooh, I am cranky. Not sorry!![]()
Frankly this is a terrible excuse, because a story designed for kids does not mean it has to suck. They made a business decision that Star Wars and marvel are kid movies.

The upcoming series on Disney+: especially Obi-Wan and Cassian Andor series. I'll check out The Mandalorian at some point too. What Star Wars television do you have in mind?
Who are you accusing, hopefully not me. 😛 1-3 was a major fail, but apparently bringing in new blood to revive the franchise was not enough either. 😬To be honest Lucas ruined the franchise with 1-3. To be mad at 7-9 and not look at what Lucas himself did to the franchise is disingenuous.
