For what's it's worth, ArcticFox,TFF and my own FoxBox are back to working with the Nokia UA on Tiger again.
It's good the Nokia UA is working again, I thought with the new YouTube mobile design that it was the end for YouTube streaming on tiger and classilla.

Small announcement:

A new YouTube mini-browser is in development for 10.4.

Tiger shall not be 'Tubeless for much longer. :)

(Let's see Google screw up this one...)
Do you know if it will be G3 compatible (work decent on a G3) and if it will use the Nokia UA or standard UA?

I use TenSixTube on my early Intel Mac Mini for watching videos while exercising. Today I turned it on and YouTube changed a bunch of stuff for the player page. I can no longer make it full screen and the playback scrubber isn’t native or selectable anymore... any suggestions?

@Slix Somewhere in one of these threads i had created alternative apps to tensixtube for 10.6, but i'm too lazy to look them up right now. Attached is YewTube. If you use the default tonvid links the player still does offer full screen mode. If you click the 'watch on youtube' links they are gone. The tonvid links will play in 720p also.

I also just updated HookTubeX for 10.6. See which works better for you.

Cheers.

In all fairness he was talking about AF for YouTube on snow leopard where it works just fine. ;)
I thought he was referring to the PPC version. PPC can't play youtube using a Mozilla based browser... (a quad is an exception)

On osx maybe, but even my g4's can stream 360p in firefox/arcticfox in linux with no problem. Granted they use less cpu with GM and viewtube played through vlc browser plugin, but otherwise it isn't an issue.

Ok. Ummm... For the heck of it i tried TenFiveTube-v2 on Tiger. Guess what? IT WORKS!

Nice another option for Tiger .

Off-topic, just a thought , I can hardly keep up with all different options there are for Youtube playback on all different versions of OS X and all different CPU architectures.

Couldn't we (ask to) make a sticky topic where all these topics are centralised ?

I noticed this at the weekend but couldn't remember whether you'd already modified TFTv2 for this?
Defaults to 360P now I think - it's a bit too demanding on my 12" Powerbook - I wonder if it's worth looking at the user agents again?

Im at work now, but I used an android 4.4 netbook UA. Can't give you the exact UA until I get home to look, but I'd start experimenting with android strings.

Cheers

No luck with every variant of Android 4 I have...however, brought back 3gp playback through Safari with an Android 2.2 UA - that wasn't working last month.

Well, that's something. :)
Now that I think of it, I may have used an old android 4 YouTube app UA. I'll post the UA tonight. Still have 5 hours of work yet.

Yep, that's what it was, an android netbook youtube app UA.

That UA doesn't work for Safari in Tiger but it does work for Omniweb. Interestingly on Leopard the UA when used in LWK allows a choice of video quality ( I suspect from 360P to 240P.)

Odd. I opened the xcode.proj for tenfivetube-v2 and that was the UA. Anyway that UA in LWK also allows full screen (icon in top left corner when you hover over the video). A little jumpy at times, but it works.

Cheers

Thanks for those options. I can open the YouTube page with HookTubeX and it gives the old HTML5 QuickTime style player options, allowing for time scrubbing and full screen. Is there any way to make that app open in YouTube automatically? It's probably just the user agent that's set to something different than what TenSixTube used to be (with YouTube changing everything all the time, ugh). So alternatively, would it be possible to update TenSixTube with whatever that agent is so it continues to work? Thanks for the help! :D
