Interesting, wonder if I'll be able to claim that back.

For info Three store Southampton do not have nano sims / aren't giving them out yet, I was told to come back next Wednesday.

Three store Eastleigh however have replacement nano sims and are selling them for £5.11. http://twitter.com/jackatjack/status/246898003338731520/photo/1

During the transaction I did see him debit my account on the till for £5.11, but he then immediately credited it back. I wasn't fussed either way, I was just happy to get it all sorted after a couple of failed attempts at the same store previously.

I think the confusion with Three's £5.11 charge is that it's the standard replacement SIM charge. I think for nano-SIM upgrades theyre meant to put a discount on to refund it (hence free). This showed up on my receipt. So if they're tryin to charge you then ask if there's a refund option.

Picked up my '3' Nano mid afternoon yesterday from a local 3 Store at no cost, by the evening it was activated and is working perfectly in my iPhone 4.

To think just a few years ago 3 were seen as a laughing stock - I would never have touched their network. Now, they seem like the only network who are actually showing innovation.

Got mine for free from Three in Chelmsford High Street..

Are the 3 nano sims from the store activated at the moment? I ordered a 3 nano sim online and it arrived today, tried to register it on the website and told me the phone number was invalid. When I called them they said they had not added this one to the system yet because it wouldn't be useable until the iPhone5 was out. When I pointed out it was on a sim only contract and no phone was involved they said ahhhhh and put me on hold.

Apparently they didn't think of that so they are going to add them on the system Monday morning.... well mine at least.

Don't see what they were trying to achieve by not registering them already! guess I will have to wait until next week to transfer my number.

Anyone had any joy with Three PAYG nano sim swaps in store?

The two stores I tried they said they won't do them in store! grrr

Apparently you have to call CS (something I'd like to avoid!) to send out new ones.

Just had an online chat with Customer 'support' at Vodafone.

Welcome to Vodafone! You will now be connected with a service adviser. We’re looking forward to assisting you today.
You are now connected with Payel.

Payel: Hello, you're chatting with Payel, one of Vodafone's online customer service specialists. May I take your full name and mobile number please?
You: K****** *********
You: Hello Payel I'm Vodafone customer and I've just bought the iPhone 5 from Apple. Please can I get a nano sim swap from you?
Payel: I do completely understand your concern. I am really sorry, as the Nano SIM is out of stock.
Payel: In this regard, I would request you to visit to the store please.
You: I have done
You: The customer service staff I've spoken to don't seem to even know what a nano sim is
You: Im not at all happy with any response I've got from Vodafones CS
Payel: I do apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
Payel: I am sorry, the Nano SIM is out of stock. At the end of September, the SIM will be available in us.
You: Worried it will come to friday and ill have my iPhone 5 and no sim card to use it.
You: End? Thats completely unnacceptable
You: Three are currently giving them out in preperation for launch
Payel: I would love to do that for you. The SIM is completely out of stock.
You: Awesome

@ThreeUK on Twitter has been saying that PAYG nano-SIMs will be available in store from next Tuesday (18th).

Just ordered 2 nano sims from Vodafone live chat.

Don't give up with the one advisor, keep going!

The guy I spoke to was Aditya, did it for both contracts in a matter of minutes. Already received texts confirming the order.

Rang T-Mob customer services who said they would check and call me back. Received this tex 10 mins ago :

Nano sims will be availabe from T-Mobile on 21 Sept. *You can either phone us direct to purchase one or vist a t-mobile store, Regards Jane@t-mobile

Hope that helps although there seems to be a number of conflicting stories floating around!

That's good news if we get it atleast Friday. Pls let us know if there is any updates and I'll do the same. I'm a Tmobile SIMO customer and my iphone5 is coming directly from Apple. Don't want an expensive brick from friday without nano-sim. :(

Spoken to about 6 advisors now, and all quoting me 22nd or out of stock.

Just called 191 and some Irish lass is sending me a nanosim for Monday which I can activate through the website.

Give them a buzz maybe? Perhaps the live chat assistants have been told to parrot a line.

Went in into both Three stores in Plymouth and they both have nano sims in stock. I wanted to buy one just for the nano to micro adapter but was told by both stores they're only available for Three pay monthly customers at the moment due to low stock, damn!

So after my conversation with O2 online where they ensured me they were sending me a nano sim and not a micro sim, guess what!

They sent me a micro sim! *FACEPALM*

I noticed someone posted a pic of an O2 nano sim. Has anyone managed to get one yet?

Sorry if covered before, but O2 are now tweeting that sims can be collected from stores "just before launch".

O2 said call back on Monday and they 'should' be able to send one in the post. Also called the O2 store in Kingston and they said they'll have some on Monday.

They people on O2 online chat thing are useless; they all say 'wait till 21st', so don't bother asking on there, you just end up feeling wound up!

Yes, mine was activated in store, or registered at least, my old sim deactivated about 6 hours later last night and I swapped them over and now i'm using the nano sim in my iPhone4 perfectly.

Just walked into the Three store in Manchester, got a replacement nano SIM with adapters free of charge!

Another happy 3 customer here.
Picked up my nano sim from the Slough store this afternoon (free). It is now live in my 4S!

I've also swapped out my Three Micro SIM for a Nano SIM. The number had been transferred by the end of yesterday evening. I am now running on a Nano SIM in my 4S using the adapter kit supplied by Three.

The store staff said the request was submitted at the time and can take up to 24 hours to process so I was happy with that evening. It doesn't look like it has stopped working, but I lost 3G and couldn't make any calls so I knew it had happened, but only because I was trying to use my phone. It didn't say 'No Service' like I was expecting.

The only downside was that they charged me for it, so have asked the Three twitter account how I get a refund.
