I just tried ordering one from three online but all i could see is £12.90 1 month rolling contract option. I entered all my details and then it asked for a direct debit which makes it basically a contract.

Currently on O2 and I dont top up every month of my iphone 4s...but they just text me that my bolt on is running out.

think ill stick with O2...

when you guys went to three stores did you have to fill in anything? how did you get them working and what plan are you on?

I was just asked for my dob and postcode.
I am on the One Plan (sim only), they link the nano sim to your account at the till and it switches over within 24hrs - it took 6hrs for mine to switch.

One month rolling contract in being a contract shocker!

What your on now is Pay As You Go. One month Rollins are the same as longer contract the difference being you can cancel any month (apart from the first).

I have my PAC code from giffgaff and ideally want to be on t-mobile on the iphone 5. The way I see it I have 2 options:

1. Get a micro-SIM and port my number and take the 12 months internet deal (PAYG) and try and swap the micro sim for a nano on 21st (maybe losing free internet because it's just for 4 and 4S)

2. Wait for the 21st and see if t-mobile can give me a PAYG nano sim in store.

The advantage of the first option is I can port my number this week. Is there anything I have missed? Any chance they won't have nano sims for new PAYG customers on the 21st?

Phoned Vodafone customer services (191) yesterday afternoon. Asked the guy if he knew about the nano sim, which he confirmed, "Yes. The new sim for iPhone 5."
Asked him how I could get one, and he said that he would send on in the post, and that I would need to activate it once I got the new iPhone.

Directly after ending the call, I received an SMS confirming that I had ordered, and would be sent, a nano sim in the post.

So Three, O2 and Vodafone are giving out nano sims. Wow really poor effort Orange....really poor.

Anyone know of any good Sim only contracts? I'm leaving Giffgaff due to their waiting issue.

I know 3 have a 12month rolling for £6.50ish, but not sure how good they are? Have heard alot of bad press.

3 looks like best value, if their coverage is ok where you are.

I got a free 3 sim (payg) a few months ago just so that I could find out what the signal was like where I live (TW12).

Despite what their coverage map says, I only got 1-2 bars outdoors and the only way to combat 'no signal' when indoors (no signal in any room of the house) was to hold the phone out of the window! Tried the sim in an old iphone3g and also a 4 and 4s- same result in all handsets.

I wasn't impressed! I might try again and see if there's been any improvement, they have the best looking sim-only tariffs.

Am I the only one who's planning to just take a pair of scissors to my current SIM on launch day due to the lack of co operation by the networks in providing us with the new sims.

I've also jumped from giffgaff to three. I've heard mixed things about their network coverage, but if it's bad, it's only a 30 day contract. Hopefully the other networks can get their act together by then.

Vodafone UK are incredible. Just in the last 30 mins went online and asked to chat with Customer Service. 3 Mins later got text message confirmation of my nano sim order (3-5 days delivery).

Here's how to do it:-

1. Click this link to start Live Chat
2. Tell them you have just ordered the iPhone 5 from Apple.com and want to order a "nano sim" so that you can use it when it arrives
3. They'll transfer you to Customer Services
4. Tell same thing to Customer Services
5. Customer Service order it for you
6. 3-5 days later..... profit?

No, I'm doing the same. Have already been practising with the template and old cards I've got knocking around the place. I actually want to move to giffgaff so have ordered a couple of their sims in the hope that I can make a decent job of one of them.

So i guess as of now - only Voda and three have nano sims in stock. It looks like more than half of the iphone5 owners will be wandering with an expensive mobile with no GSM from friday. Good luck to us!

T-Mobile

I posted in the UK Thread but guess it fits here.

Just got off the blower with TMobile (25 min wait and that was with the retention's team) CS said they had still little information regarding when they would get the Nano sims but should be able to sort something out by Saturday

I said this was unacceptable as the Phone gets launched on Friday and the Nano sims should have been sorted way in advance. I even told them to take a leaf from '3''s book who have had them ready to go since last week.

They have now taking my details and will give me a call back from Wednesday for an update with the possibility of sending one out.

I just tried Vodafone and they are out of stock

Definitely call 191. Many of the online chat operators have no clue or havent been told they have them in stock.

I called up and was completed in 5 minutes. They said they are sent first class so should be here tues/wed :)

Good luck

Good news, but a real shame they couldn't have got this info together days ago. They can't have been taken by surprise!

Went in into both Three stores in Plymouth and they both have nano sims in stock. I wanted to buy one just for the nano to micro adapter but was told by both stores they're only available for Three pay monthly customers at the moment due to low stock, damn!

I went in to the Plymouth store and got one today, however I am a current 3 customer on a rolling monthly contract. Just have to wait till 01/10/12 for my 5 to arrive... Doh!
