yeah.. i'm not really worried yet... i'm pretty confident,

as long as i don't get the "delayed" email, i think all will be ok... and after all.. i'm still going to live one more day without my iFondle

They are shipping hundreds of thousand of these things. Doing it in order of order placed is the last thing on their minds.

Often, later orders get processed earlier. It is probably because the labels come off the printer that way. The important thing is that you are in the batch for the day. The fact that yours is preparing shows that it is.

Also one of the first (at least on the second wave, finished by 11:51pm), and also had a smart cover. Got my shipping email at 10:06.

Don't worry, I'm sure they just have some crazy number like 10,000 (or add another 0) of these to box and label. Odds are they flicked us all to preparing at the same time, and now just are packing us 1 by 1.

Yeah maybe that's why. My case that I ordered yesterday is still showing as 'processing'. I reckon yours will update today :)

Well after years of buying Apple products online on the first day of their launch I’ve had the worst experience ever pre-ordering on the Apple Store.

Like all of you I attempted to access the store from the moment of the iPad’s release and after many attempts one order got through but was not authorized (this happens sometimes with online purchases with my card providers as they are hot on fraud but I can still always use the card in person so it is not a major problem.) So I used a second card and after more attempts it finally got through all the "Oops!" went through all the steps and I finally had an order confirmation number - Success! 1 black iPad 64G 3G. In a great mood - this was not to last!

Next day I attempted to pay for petrol and both my credit cards were refused! Panic mode - I did not have enough cash to pay! I had to get my husband to drive for miles to come and rescue me and pay for my petrol. I was in shock and totally baffled until I realized it must be to do with my Apple Store purchase.

What had happened was on both cards one order was authorised and several others were refused so both cards were blocked. But I only had 1 iPad ordered so I was told to watch out that I was only charged on the one card.

Then today I receive separate shipping notifications for 2 iPads! two different order numbers and one seems to have been from when I made my first attempt at ordering before midnight!

So thanks Apple - not only did you land me in a nightmare scenario which has terrified me into carrying tons of cash in case my cards fail again, but I also now I am forced to pay for a second iPad! Whatever happened to all the confirmation and following e-mails for the other iPad?

I shall be writing a very strong letter of complaint to Apple - I know launches are tough times but this is a total communication meltdown and I am spitting:mad:

Ring them to complain, and if it does turn up refuse the second at the door. I'm sure they can manage to cancel the second order even if it has shipped in these circumstances, and refund your money ASAP.

iPad Wi-Fi + 4G 32GB (White).

Received confirmation e-mail on March 8 @ 12:30AM.
No notification of delay - (yet).

Order page shows 'Delivers on March 16'.

Delivery to Cheshire, UK.

Just an update on the above preorder.

Order moved to 'Preparing for Shipment' 3 hours ago.
We then received shipment notification shortly after 5PM.

Expected Delivery: March 16.

It has been a rubbish launch from the payment point of view, fortunately I used my company debit card (which is only charged at when the item ships) otherwise I'm sure I would have also have a few extra iPads on their way to me.

Have you called Apple Customer Service about this? Other reports here have said they were very helpful in fixing these extra charges.

First post on MacRumours, first ever iPad pre-ordered and it has shipped!

White 64GB Wi-Fi model due to be delivered to a London location on March 16th by UPS. Ordered just before midnight on the day of announcement, so pretty chuffed to have it in my hands this time next week :)

info overload

The Apple Store app just pinged my phone saying my order has been dispatched for delivery 'on or before 16th March' (I did get a 'shipment notification' email at 10:40 this morning).

Well that was several hours after release. The phone lines would have been taking hundreds of orders every minute.

The online store wasn't up until around that time and the apple systems were down so they could not process orders.

I think it varied. The store was down at 8:45 yet I still got an order in via the phone. They guy kept apologizing that it was taking so long, but it worked obviously...

Just to put a smile on all your faces.....I just per-ordered online tonight and my delivery date is 10th April!

So if yours is a day or so late, keep calm and think of me! :p

Yay mine has been shipped :)

Confused about the tracking though - my tracking number is not registered on the TNT site at all, is anyone elses though? And the Apple tracking page is very sparse on details (just says 'Shipped to: Cardiff, GB')

same here vitaminz, cant get the tracking number to register at all, probably not entered their transit system yet, the number has merely been allocated.
