ive never pre ordered anything so i'd be impressed if i did get it on the 26th....
The footnote on the NZ one certainly implies that you'd normally receive it on the 26th:
You shall be the first!

Just got this email from Apple about the Leopard guide.

I just wish I could get the Higher Education discount in the retail stores.
I do too. I wonder why they can't do that. I don't think it would be any less secure if you could show your university ID in the shop rather than the current method of using the online store from your university network.
Still no update on my order. Since sunday it has said "prepared for shipment", and "Ships by: DELIVERS ON OCTOBER 26TH".
Has anybody shipped yet? I guess it's still too early, but if they are shipping some of the copies by UPS ground they better ship them soon if they're going to arrive on Friday...
It seems like it would cost a lot less to ship them now by ground than to ship everything priority overnight on Thursday.

I emailed the Australian Apple store about my order-here's their reply:
Your estimated shipment date is on or before 26/10/2007.
Delivery to your indicated address is a separate time frame which is approximately 2 business days, this is displayed to you at the check out page during the online order process. Your estimated delivery date is on or before 30/10/2007.

What's going on? I went to Apple Store Finland to check my order status and got this message:
"Thank you for shopping at the Apple Online Store
Apple's Online and phone Order Status services are temporarily unavailable due to a scheduled upgrade to our systems.

they did it to the uk store a few days ago as well
i was hoping for the same thing
and got the same result as you, nothing
if you go to the online store, it still says leopard ships by the 26th
but i dont know
i guess we'll see on friday, as apparently with tiger this all happened, and people still got it on the day of release
doesnt bother me though, im away from today until friday, and busy all day saturday
lets just hope it arrives before then, as i have school on monday

ordered mine from play.com for £74.99 delivered.. found a £5 voucher code somewhere and applied that.. usual play.com price is £79.99..

As you can see, they've changed it now. This may simply be because it's too late to pre-order in time now.
Please, please, please keep us updated! I, too, have an order placed with Amazon UK and Apple on-line. I had an e-mail from Amazon UK that was pretty vague as to whether they would be able to ship this week.
The situation is looking good for me. Amazon obviously expect to have stock available today, having updated the despatch date during the weekend and also having updated the despatch status today.
We'll see what happens, but I'm not expecting despatch confirmation until later tonight. Which would coincide with what happened with my Orange Box order last week.
