I caved in and bought the Pro. Transferred all my games by copying them on the SSD extension drive and installing that in the Pro. Worked out perfectly.
The Pro is actually a little smaller than the launch model it's replacing. This is nice.
It has some fan noise, but nothing I can hear when playing at normal volume.
I was going to ass a disc drive later, as I still have a handful of PS4 games on disc. But I realized I already had half of these games as part of PS Plus monthly games, and I can buy the other ones digital on sale, which will come out a lot cheaper than buying a disc drive. Thus, my transition to digital-only is finally complete!
Performance wise, I can't really comment yet. I am re-playing Uncharted 4 at the moment, which has not been optimized for the Pro yet.
