There is no PS5 Pro enhanced version of Witcher 3, but there is a PS5 version. New Vegas doesn't run on PS5 or PS4 even. It was a PS3 game. It does run on XSX though because it's part of the 360 backwards compatibility program. But it should run fine even on a toaster PC these days. Fallout 4 runs on PS5.

You should check out digital foundry's PS5 Pro review to see what to expect.

Thank you! However, if that review is from the launch date, I think some things may have changed during this 10 months since the release of the console: firmware updates, games updates, PSSR updates… and the best is yet to come (in 2026).

@MisterSavage how's DS2? Had it pre-ordered, cancelled, ordered again, cancelled and end up not buying it. Not because I was in doubt about the game, but because I have a huge backlog (still haven't played The Witcher 3 :-( ) and feel guilty buying new games unless they're heavily discounted.
Haven't bought it either for the same reason. The backlog makes me want to cry. Also, to make myself a complete hypocrite I am currently playing IJ+great circle, which I am obsessed with.

Just started Black Myth Wukong, is it meant to be this difficult lol? Smaller enemies easy easy, bigger ones oh man they are beating me time and again lol.

Finished Death Stranding 2 over the weekend and what a treat. I know it's know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I loved it.

I actually bought the first one at release but stopped playing about 1/3rd through. I liked it initially but wasn't hooked and never finished it. When that MEGA trailer (10 minutes+ lol) for the 2nd one came out, I know I had to finish the 1st because part 2 looked amazing.

Troy Baker as Higgs is well worth the price of admission.

I had to *force* myself to play the first 1/3 of the first one and almost quit. Ended up really enjoying it.

Same here. Started the game on PS4 once and quit after several hours. Tried again a year later, quit again. Then upgraded to the PS5 director's cut and forced myself to keep playing and ended up loving the game. DS2 is on my "to buy" list without a doubt. Didn't buy it because my backlog is ridiculous...
Same for Indy and his big circle. I'll buy it someday without a doubt.

Without spoilers… is it worth it gameplay-wise? Story-wise? Or both?

Haven’t heard/read anything about it, that’s why I’m surprised you say it is that good. Is it a crossover between Uncharted and Tomb Raider?
Somewhat but also not really. Those are third person and it's 95% first person when you're in control and not viewing cut scenes. But you've got the aspect of exploring tombs (sometimes) and going back and getting collectibles.

If you're a Kojima fan then it's a no brainer but gameplay wise, it's unlike anything else really. It's tedious and repetitive but challenging and you decide how to get from point A to B. If you like the Metal Gear Solid series, you can unlock some tools and do the whole stealth/action thing. Story wise, it's very complex and it's not explained in a streamlined fashion. The closest thing I can relate it to, story-telling wise, are shows like Lost and the Leftovers. You don't know what the heck is going on but just enjoy the ride.

It's definitely worth it just for the fact that's it's a unique gaming experience executed masterfully. But games are getting more expensive and $70 USD is tough the spend on a game you're unsure about. If you haven't played the 1st, you should be able to find it cheap second hand. If you have a PC, Epic Games gave away Death Stranding 1 for free for a few days. You never know, that could happen again someday.

Excuse me, I didn’t explain myself properly. I did play the first one, and loved it, loved the soundtrack, the views, the experience. But the gameplay, the missions, felt more like a chore. And the story, well, it was a bit too fantastical for me. Without revealing anything, it was so unrealistic and eccentric that I was expecting, until the very end, the “this was all a simulation” moment. But no, it never happened.

That’s why I was actually asking whether it is more challenging, rewarding, diverse, fun, and engaging than the first one, both gameplay and story-wise.

If we value what sales say, being the best seller it currently is, might mean it is better in every way. We’ll see (once it drops in price).

I played DS1 and am I think a third or so into DS2.

I find the story in DS2 more straightforward and easier to follow. I spent half the time in DS1 scratching my head wondering what the story was supposed to be.

The gameplay in DS2 is MUCH more fun. DS1 I was often frustrated by things like getting stuck in a deep stream and all my cargo floating off down the rapids, or seeing a hut I wanted to reach across a ravine and not being able to find a way to get there. In DS2 I have yet to lose any cargo. The maps are much more helpful finding a path to your destination. Just open the map and zoom in and you can almost always see a path to get you where you want.

tl;dr With DS1 I was annoyed and frustrated half the time where with DS2 I am able to sit back and enjoy myself.

Thanks, you just sold me the game.

Hey pals! I need your help!

I need to know if I buy a second hand PS5 Pro and the previous user hasn’t logged out from or deactivated the console, if I’ll be able to log in once I have it in my home.

Like, erasing it with a factory reset, and logging in with my PSN account. Will I be able to activate that PS5 Pro with my account?

And finally, is it there and known or widespread issue on PS5 Pros that I should be aware of?

How can I know if the console is banned? He showed me a video running a game but it could well be an offline game so… any tips are welcome!

Okay, I managed to go to the previous owner’s home and I’ve been able to try it, delete his user, and log in with my account. Then, I entered the PSN store, and did a connection test from settings. It was able to connect to the Internet and to PSN servers, so I guess everything is all right and the console isn’t banned. So I’ve bought it.

It’s been a really good deal: PS5 Pro with the original Dual Sense controller, a vertical stand, the Blu-Ray disk unit already mounted, and the newest Assassins Creed Shadows. Al for… 600€. Remember that the console alone is 800€ here in Europe, plus 80-120€ the BluRay disk drive, plus 60€ from the Assassins Creed, which I suspect it will lose value in a few months so I’m gonna play it to the fullest and sell it. Everything would be valued at almost 1000€ here in Europe, so I guess that, at 600€ is a really good deal.

First thing I’m gonna do once I arrive home is clean the possible dust it may have accumulated over time. It is 6 months old.

Hey everyone! It’s been like two weeks with the Smokey PS5 Pro! Although I had it several days in ventilation and the nicotine smell has gone at 90% already. It was such a great deal, having the PS5 Pro + Disk Drive + AC Shadows for just 600€… and other goodies that I’m going to sell such as a pair of headphones or a vertical stand, as my console is going to be horizontal.

Actually, the plan is to get an accessory that goes attached right below the desk table, where I will put the PS5 Pro horizontally. It’s so big that it’s taking a lot of space on my desk.

Now I’m trying to find the best non-OLED 4k 27” monitor, and having tried a couple, I think I’m gonna wait for the upcoming mini-LED MSI MPG 274URDFW E16M (hopefully I wrote it correctly).

Despite having the AC Shadows and a lot of PS4 digital games, I’m currently playing Astro’s Playroom. Such a great little jewel! It’s charming, it’s wonderful! Tons of nostalgia for those of us who grew up with PlayStation consoles, from the very first one.

This is great. I'm more excited about a PS5 handheld than a PS6 TV console:

Ugh, I am the exact opposite. I have no use for a gaming handheld.
If I had a handheld I would game even more often than what’s I do now e.g casually and on the whim without having to formally sit on the couch in front of the tv.

There are also lots of fun looking indie games that can be played at 10-20min burst and don’t need a big screen experience. Finally my kids are sometimes using the tv, so a handheld would be excellent.
