Possible Senario

Hello all

This is my first post in this forum.

I have been a long time Mac user. I also live in the city in China where Macbooks are produced. Production of the new Core i7 Macbook Pro has stopped because the current design of the Macbook Pro is not suited for the new processor. Heat and battery problems. I can upload photos if you want. Factory has stated that it will start production again once Apple sends in new drafts of the product. Estimated March to April release.

Peace

sure, go ahead I'd love to see that.

Man I had to register to tell you guys something about FR and EN inventory.

Very likely it is Macbook Pro.

1. Why would they need SKU FR and EN for iPad?

iPad can switch language itself inside the OS, there are no keyboard needed for iPad, iPod, iPhone... it's all touchscreen! Manual booklet are bilingual just like getting an iPod or iPhone...

2. EN / FR mainly for keyboard layout. I'm sure notebook keyboard either fixated to a language and customer will decide if they want FR or EN keyboard layout.

This is very common for Canada (bilingual FR and EN products)...

SKU EN / FR x3

13" EN key layout
13" FR key layout

15" EN key layout
15" FR key layout

17" EN key layout
17" FR key layout

if it was keyboard for iPad... why would they need x3 those SKU?!?

Sorry for those who is hoping for iPad... have you seen the conference introductory of the iPad. It said there, will be releasing in 60 days from Jan 27, 2010... That's mean late March.

Meanwhile, I continue to be not only happy, but blown away by the performance of my 2-month old MacBook Pro C2D 3.06Ghz with 8GB of RAM. Not everyone is waiting for this refresh with bated breath. This computer replaced a 4.5 year old Powerbook G4. I expect it to last as long, too.

but you spent all that money on what are essentially wal mart clearance specs these days. unless you absolutely have to have 8 hour battery life HP and Dell are literally giving away C2D systems now

That and in reality macbook pros get 4 hours if you have the 9600m activated (needed to do anything intensive)

I love how these Mac rumors get everyone from around the world in on this. Thanks for the info DJ-R. This is funny, I'm learning all about retail logistics, Chinese New Year and manufacturing, Quebecois SKUs, hehe. Good stuff. Now we just need those MBPs...I have some major research to get started working on with a new MBP.

You act like every PC manufacturer has up and dropped all C2D machines. They haven't. The Core iX platform has just been released for a few months, and a good portion of what is available isn't all that spectacular in other regards. Besides, if you are all excited to buy rev. A Apple hardware the second it's released (especially the portables), best of luck with that.

When can you have the pics up for all to see? What's the factories name, we would love to hear all the info you have. You could be a new friend to all us looking to get the new MBP's.....hehe

No your absolutely right, but I'm actually talking present and future, I meant to say I hope Apple doesn't abandon professional market, since they are defined as a professional company overall, by opaquing expected Macbook pros with silly products like the iPad which are productively uncompetitive to notebooks. how professional productive an item is differs from how successful and mainstream it becomes. Sad reality is, its expected that iPad will be the center of attention because its mainstream yet it doesn't define Apple professionally, only trendy and commercially successful.

It may define who they are to you but the facts don't back that up.

By either dollars or units, the "silly trendy products" (I take that to mean the iPhone and iPod too) just obliterate the Mac sales.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Arrandale's TDP about the same as Penryn's?

I can upload photos if you want.

Would like to see that.

Ok I had to go recover my password so I can reply to this guys post. I think this makes sense, after looking at the pictures of the ipad couple of times, there is nothing on there besides the "ipad" that needs to be translated and they obviously wouldn't translate that. It also make sense since they only have 3 sku's in the US bestbuys (the ones that are set to arrive on march 14 in the stores). Looking at the history, bestbuy usually gets the apple products 1-3 weeks after it's be released/announced. So if march 14 is the bestbuy's in-store date, my guess is that the mpb will be out a week or two before that.

... even if it is fake (which i don't think it is) ...

You might want to actually read what it says.

This paragraph alone
May 25, 2010: The prices of the iPad 3Gs will be reduced 50%. We're going to screw the people who bought iPad 3Gs in the first month.
proves it is certainly a fake / parody message.

Hm

I don't care when they release it. But just include antiglare acreen option on 13" mbp !!! Please!!!
If not, I am going with current generation of 15" antiglare when it's refurb version is up. And it will be priced at $1400 or less for sure.

Anyways, this will be a major update for mbp.
including its Design as well.
Maybe more USB ports :)

Why do you think this will be a "major" update? There are hundreds of other threads that say the exact opposite.

If you can post pics and really good details about what's going on with these new MBPs, you will be considered a fkn legend in these forums. I say go for it!

What city in China produces the MBP?

I'm sure it's late there already, he probably went to sleep and left us hanging...:D

EDIT: Okay it's 18h18 in Tokyo, Japan. So it's not that late in China.

jobs once
insisted that this year's new
products will bring apple to the next level.

Plus major CPU changes might require redisgn?

To achieve that, gotta get the fresh look on mbp.

I hope we get the physical mouse bottons back! ;(
