OP:
"Anyone else wanting to cancel their order or not buy it because of the notch."

Why did you order it in the first place?
You KNEW "the notch" would be there.

Better get used to it.
I sense that the 2021 "Ninotchka" MBPs are the first of a long line of similar models to come in the future.

Which would you prefer:
-- the "notch",
or...
-- going back to a "big bezel" up top ??

Just use the new Mac app Forehead and your notch will disappear. You will get the extra screen real estate for your menu, so no point in going back to the notchless MacBooks of old.

Forehead Mac App

If you don't have a notch, then you just have a black border on top of the display. And the notch is where empty white space would otherwise be in the status bar most of the time anyway.

I’m more disappointed at the out of date ports they added by not adding the faster SD card reader nor 2.1 HDMI (which exists in their Apple TV), not very Apple like. Also I’d say most people suffer dongle hell due to lack of USB-A and thus ill continue to suffer anyway.

The screen only going to 500nits on SDR content is also kind of meh. I’ve cancelled my order but may pick one up if reviews are good.

Definitely not! The notch isn’t really an issue. The smaller bezels will be awesome!

So many people here have zero need for any of the computers that they are buying lmao.
Not buying cause of a "notch".

This is Jerry Springer type of reasoning show,

sitting here typing on my 13" MacBook Pro wishing it HAD at least a notch to justify the wasted space at the top of the screen.

Having used two iPhones with the notch, guess what: I don't even see it anymore. It becomes part of the exterior "chrome". I fully expect the same will happen to me with the new MBP.
Interesting. I have the iPhone 12 pro and I see the notch every single time I use it. How can you not see it?

What? You ordered but cancelled? Why did you not read the specs before ordering? Can you think?

I couldn’t stand the notch on the iPhone and it has zero place on the MacBook Pro.

Anyone else wanting to cancel their order or not buy it because of the notch.
You couldn’t order the Macbook Pro before the announcement - so you were aware of the notch before ordering.

What made you change your opinion about it?

Many of you have asked why I ordered it and then now I decide that I may cancel it. That I knew it had a notch ahead of time. Yes, of course I did. I ordered the minute they went on sale. I had just 1 hour of time to think about it and then ordered. I was 50/50 when I ordered that I would cancel. Then, a few days later, one of Apple's Product Designers posted on Twitter in response to people asking about the notch and the mouse arrow... and she replied that the mouse arrow will go behind the notch.

I realized right there how absurdly out-of-touch people at Apple are and how ridiculous this product is. It's worse than the TouchBar. A mouse arrow that travels behind part of a section of the physical frame around the screen? That is insane. The notch is horrible. And it has no place on a MacBook Pro. I thought Apple could simply digitize that upper section of the screen and make it black with persistent menu items/Finder menu, and have it as application menus as well... But the notch doesn't work.

I have just purchased an M1 MacBook Air. My order is still open for the new Pro. What I will do is go to the store and check a demo. My order is set to arrive 4 November, so I still have time to decide.

If it’s such an issue for you, there is about a 12,000% chance a developer somewhere will create software which block you being able to move your mouse behind the notch. No biggie

Go ahead, let the people who won't complain move up a place in line. The notch will be present on the MBP's design for several years at least.

I don’t think it’ll last more than 2 iterations. It’ll be gone by 2023. It will be as short lived as the butterfly keyboard.

I agree with this. Apple will get a flood of negative feedback on it. Steve Jobs has long left the building. There is nobody at Apple that has the guts to say no. They keep doing these stupid things that are alarming. The butterfly keyboard, the dumb TouchBar that sucked, and now a bloody notch.
