Wow -- I'd call that compelling evidence.

1) Those that have a shipping number are still waiting for the product to enter the shipping chain.
2) Those that have shipped got held (heck, I didn't even know a shipper could do this)
3) I ordered seven weeks ago and it went to shipping the same night this patch was issued.

Yep i think thats cleared things up for me, some must have gone out but then they realised there was a problem so have held the rest until they got an update out otherwise they may have had many unhappy people with TB displays ring Apple if there were issues with it.

They released another firmware update for these displays last night –*what's the chances that they put all deliveries on hold until this got out?

I think you are right, this update was released yesterday and now shipment times have been updated to 1-3 days.

I wonder what UPS thinks about getting blamed for "logistics" issues.

Question about UPS signature requirement

Mine's finally out for delivery today but to my old address (my own mistake, I failed to update the address). The landlord has offered to receive the package and sign for me. My question: can he do that or do I have to be the one to sign?

Shouldn't be a problem with someone else signing. I do it here all the time. Sometimes the driver will leave at a neighbor as well.

Wohooo ... my status also changed 'Preparing for shipment'. But,
Ships: Sep 22
Delivers Sep 24 via Standard Shipping.
Hopefully it will change to deliver on Friday ... I doubt Saturday delivery for Standard Shipping ...

Finally! :)

I ordered mine yesterday and now it says that it will be delivered by tomorrow! I'm in the London btw. Feel bad though for those who have been waiting for it longer than me =/..

I hope so - the reason I'm not buying direct online is that I took out AppleCare on my new MBP, Time Capsule etc. on 9/9/2011 and because Aple couldn't supply me with the TB display that I wanted at the time, they agreed to add it to my existing AppleCare rather than me having to pay again for separate cover via mail order thus saving me a few quid.

Not long now by the look of things.

Thats fair enough DW58, i really hope you get it soon, i think they will have them by the weekend but i believe they may of had them a while but have held them back for some reason
Remember mac rumours saying they had reportedly been sent to stores about 1-2 weeks ago

Interesting you should say that because when I was in the Aberdeen store (Saturday 17th & Monday 19th) the staff seemed a bit vague as to whether they had stock or not, plus when I phoned last Thursday the guy first told me they were in stock and then rather obviously changed his mind. If they are in by Monday, I may take my son back to Uni by car after the weekend rather than let him go by train, my excuse being to help him out of course ;)

Games will vary based on the resolution that you select. The macbook air has an HD3000 so it should handle HD perfectly fine. My HD2000 on my i3 works flawlessly although thats a pc connected to a projector.

I doubt Apple would allow it to work if it wasn't smooth.

Got mine today

Mine came UPS this morning, UPS, Ive got it running on my 2011 Macbook Air now, 3 USB's and a firewire all plugged in... THIS THING IS SWEET!!

Crazy hearing about all these people waiting on shipments!

We normally get things last in Australia, but I managed to pick one up from the Chadstone store on Sunday. They had 10 delivered Saturday morning.

Ordered mine the 15th September.
Will receive it today 21th September "on the way for delivery" says UPS.
