is there an easy way to upload a screenshot to this forum from an iPad (I have the screenshot)? Not sure how to do it.
That being said, people arent using screen captures because thats a capture of the digital representation of the image from RAM, vs. an external shot with a camera that shows the physical display characteristics.
Having personally seen the pink/green color cast on a total of 9 different iPads, 5 of which came from different stores/shipments, I feel there are far fewer "perfect" iPads than perfect ones out there in the wild, that people are aware of.
There are several factors here.
1. Most iPad owners are not on macrumors.
2. Macrumors members without a screen problem (noticed or unnoticed) are not participating in the discussions about screen problems.
That said, I feel that there are a LOT of defective pink/green screens out there, and that people either haven't noticed, can't see it, or don't care.

Bravo, my good sir.Wirelessly posted
My screen appears perfect to me. I have very sensitive eyes when it comes to color differences and I see no color shifting or odd hues for my display. Now have I shot a picture of my display in a dark room from a very acute angle to look for some pink hue??? No! That's not the way I use it so why the heck would I care if it's pink, green or rainbow hued with prancing unicorns from that angle as photographed by a digital camera under those viewing conditions as that's not how I use it!?
If your display bothers you under normal viewing conditions then it's "not for you". I wouldn't go looking for and inventing odd and unusual viewing situations to justify a return.
Ever consider the possibility that your idealization of perfection is higher than Apples and 95% of the rest of the consumer base?
That doesn't make you wrong and everyone else right, or vice-versa. It does mean however that you are unlikely to be satisfied by Apple products. So they cut you off accordingly.....they know you have greater requirements than they can meet. Simple business logic....and sound logic at that.
between a $100 stereo and a $10,000 stereo does not mean there's no difference.
Here's the problem with your ENTIRE post. Because the majority of new iPad owners are NOT on Macrumors, you can't make any sort of declarative statement on whether or not there is a screen issue based on the posts here. Furthermore, it is commonly accepted (and proven) that forums such as Macrumors will see a far higher percentage of posts that complain about products. That will always skew the perception towards the negative.
But here's the key fact that completely refutes your contentions about there being a "lot" of defective screens. If that was truly the case, then the mass media (especially those who always have an ax to grind with Apple) would have jumped all over the "quality control issues" and the high rate of return. But the truth of the matter is that on the whole the user experience has been far more positive than these forums indicate.
The irony of you demanding to see photos of "perfect" screens while offering nothing more than conjecture and allegations is laughable at best, and pathetic at worst. My screen has no discoloration, dead pixels, or light leak, but I'm not going to post a screenshot to prove it because I don't have to, and I'm certainly not going to do it just because you demand it.
Perfect is subjective. I don't care about a slight colour tint, or a severe colour tint that only appears at crazy viewing angles, so a screen with those "issues" would be perfect to me.
If people spent more time using the device and less time obsessing over the minute details, they'd realise it doesn't really matter.
You know what, you're right. It's all just coincidence.
It's just coincidence that in NYC, at a busy Apple store, where hundreds of iPads are sold daily, and the stock is replenished continuously, that the 4 iPads I've gotten all had pink/green screens, and that all but one of their display models have the same pink/green screens.
And it's just a coincidence that 2 of my coworkers's iPads, ordered at different times, shipped from different batches, both have pink/green screens.
And it's just a coincidence that another iPad purchased at Best Buy, from yet a different batch, also has a pink/green screen.
And again, it's just a coincidence that one of the few people who have posted a photo of their "good screen" clearly have a pink/green screen. It's obviously a flaw in the way the photo was taken...a mere coincidence that the green/pink color shift looks exactly like every iPad I've seen without the aid of any camera.
All coincidence. The rest of the iPads are probably perfect.

Wow. What a monumental waste of time reading this thread was.
Here's the thing: to my eyes my iPad screen is perfect. I have no desire or obligation to prove it to anyone. Why? Because it's my iPad and the only opinion that matters about it is mine.
Some of you really need to relax.
In my case, I don't give a da** about tint, be it even or uneven, all I am asking for is one with no dead pixel/stuck pixel or trapped dust (which also looked like a dead pixel when I am reading a paper on my iPad) which I have yet to find except those few displayed sets in Apple store.
Hate to break it to ya mate, not a single iPad 3 I've seen has had a dead pixel or dust speck.
I tried to take a picture of my perfect iPad, but alas my camera isn't perfect![]()

what about it? are you posting it to show the left/right color shift from green to pink, or to show that it's perfect?
I copied 2 squares of the image from the far right side and dragged them straight across, all the way left...
