Don't like your screen? Simple solution, return it and get your money back. Complaining on a message board won't change a thing about your screen

Guess you don't read the news much. Macrumors forums are regularly and consistently sourced in the press when a problem arises with an Apple product. And generally Apple responds quickly when a negative story makes it to press.

Barely noticeable

DEAL WITH IT

Barely noticeable to YOU. DEAL WITH THAT.

I'd love to see your face when your green shirt comes back from the dry cleaner with 1 pink sleeve. BARELY NOTICEABLE!

I don't read threads where the original post has more than 50 down-votes. C'mon people, this one is almost across the line!

Return it for another. ;)

But it should be perfect, no matter how many pictures I take, what angle I take them at, what lighting conditions there are... It should be perfect every time :p

Edit: Here's my screen, but the camera makes it look a bit funny...

If you paid for a camera that compensated for your crappy shooting ability then it should. :D

Wow, I do think a lot of people are being extremely anal. I just picked up a new iPad this afternoon and I am very picky, but I cannot detect any issues with the screen. The color tint is slightly warmer than the iPad 1 amd even my MBP, but still a very good screen.

On another note, I am amazed how much better the iPad 3 is over the original iPad. I may actually keep this one longer than a few months...

Been working with screens inside the TV industry for years, i can say for sure

My screen is perfect, perfect saturation, no light bleed. It's perfect. Seems USA got a bad batch, all the one who bought (friends and such) in norway has all been very happy.

So please dont OCD as much.

The iPad display has almost as many pixels as the Apple Thunderbolt Display and cost half as much, and you expect the screen to be the same quality?

Seriously I don't care if there is a color problem. I love my iPad 3's display. That's all I need.

Amen. I'm on iPad number five, which is about to be exchanged for number six.

So many people are claiming to have a perfect screen, but I'm pretty sure they don't know any better.

I've yet to see a really good screen. Hell, I posted pictures of my last iPad and it was MUCH better than the example you posted. Still wasn't acceptable for an $800 Apple product.

Let's see those perfect screens, people. Give those of us who have had a string of, what we still hope to be, bad luck some hope.

Dude, perhaps there a no perfect screens (at least, judging by your standards).

So what then? Are you going to exchange your iPad 10 times? How about 20? Would 60 times be too many times, or just the right amount?

If you have not found that perfect screen by...err...the 100th exchange, will you give up?

LMFHO.

The problem with taking a picture of a screen with a camera is that it will never be perfect. There's just too many variables. Why do you think Apple and every other company shops the images?

Here is one of my actual photos, crappy camera work and low light levels aside you can see that my screen appears darker towards the edges of the screen. I can assure you in the real world it looks nothing like that. It's my camera that is causing that. Please note also that there is a light source from a window coming in from the left hand side, that's going to cause havoc with the camera too.

I have no problems with my screen at all, to me it is absolutely perfect. Worry less and enjoy more will ya :p Unless you have a perfect Lightroom with a perfect camera you are ALWAYS going to see some blemish.

Having personally seen the pink/green color cast on a total of 9 different iPads, 5 of which came from different stores/shipments, I feel there are far fewer "perfect" iPads than perfect ones out there in the wild, that people are aware of.

There are several factors here.

1. Most iPad owners are not on macrumors.
2. Macrumors members without a screen problem (noticed or unnoticed) are not participating in the discussions about screen problems.

That said, I feel that there are a LOT of defective pink/green screens out there, and that people either haven't noticed, can't see it, or don't care.

Case in point, this post, whereby the poster shows the photo below and states "The backlight seems perfectly even on mine. The following pictures don't do it justice at all".

So far in the various threads, I've seen maybe 2 instances of a good looking screen, with photos. But I've read dozens of "my screen is perfect" posts.

I have a feeling some people are just not visually sensitive enough to see a poorly colored screen, as evidenced by the post and photo above.

So if you're gonna boast about your perfect screen, and call those who are seeing a problem crazy or OCD, how bout you put your money where your mouth is and show us a photo? If some of us are in fact OCD, some of you are, in fact, blind, and I just proved that.

Here we go with another unhappy fellow ranting about how the device did not live up to their expectation. Please do yourself and everybody a favor and just get an android!

You don't need a perfect camera or perfect lighting conditions to see that this screen looks very nice. Even the crappiest photos clearly show the pink green issue when it's present. Yours looks nice. Enjoy!

Nice canned response. You've been trained so well! What exactly does the Android operating system have to do with an Apple product's screen?

Actually I don't think it's my camera that's crappy ;) I just fail at photography :p But I certainly am enjoying my iPad, I've not had a screen issue with any of them, there was a touch of light bleed on my iPad 2 but only if I tried to fry my retina by having up at 100% brightness in the dark. My only gripe with my iPad is it makes me waste way too much time on the forums :p

For what it's worth my iPad was built second week of January.

I guess you need everything drawn out for you. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

It seems that Apple isn't able to put out a good device, try an android device, I heard they do a better job.

Or

If :apple: = Bad. Try Android.

Hope this helps! :D

I'm not sure if mine constitute as "perfect", but I don't notice anything wrong mine. I was going to buy an iPad 2 this afternoon, then saw a new iPad at my local Walmart and decided to get it instead. Pretty happy with :)

Photo was shot straight using my iPhone.

PS: This is a week 7 build.

The fact that you can't seem to get one so perhaps it's time to cut bait and move on to something else? But that's just a guess.

Production week 7 ipad 3 bought on launch day. No issues whatsoever with the screen. No pinks or greens, no yellow and no dead pixels. Looks exactly like my ipad 2 did. Has some light bleed at max brightness, but i don't usually stare at a black screen at max brightness, so it doesn't bother me.

+1. Add me to the list of picture perfect iPads... :apple:

Six pages of threads to address one nutboy. Must be very fulfilling to an OCD sufferer living in mom's basement.

It seems that the right bottom corner is a little bit yellow. It is very easy to prove. Just bring up the keyboard and compare the keys and background at two sides. Please let us know your discovery.
