If you all seriously have screen issues , as well as I do , not as much as before , but still I have issues.
If you all have that , just keep writing posts on apple support , keep calling them.
If we dont make a noise , enough noise , they will never fix this , and I am telling you , it can be hardware.
This is hardware , it works or it doesnt work.
In hardware there is no , it kind a works but it dont....
Its software......
And one more thing , camera button is now way more resposive , and works like charm.
So , they are fixing stuff just not the stuff we need or want.
So , make noise where noise should be make.
Make shorst on youtube , make stamets that 18.0.1 chaged things but not enough , and they will hear us

I also came from the 14 pro max. Upon setting up the 16 pro max, I immediately noticed the problem. Something is not right here. I've been buying iPhones since 2007 and have never had a similar problem. For that reason I had sold my 14 pro max the day my 16 pro max arrived. I had high hopes for this update. While it partially improved things it is still unusable and unacceptable for me. The screen sensitivity is just not like prior models. It's probably a hardware issue. I don't know if it's a bad batch of displays or what. I think the touchscreen problems with the 16 pro max models are not a single problem. Some had that weird camera button palm rejection thing while others had a general touch sensitivity problem. I had the latter problem. Something tells me Apple has decided the issue is fixed and that's it. I've decided to return mine tomorrow. I'll be getting the pro and hope for the best.

I ended up getting my phone tested and I had hardware defects. So I had to get a replacement just after 2 days of ownership. So I’m thinking it’s a really bad batch of phones

Can you try this I’m curious?: Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size. Are you able to drag the slider left and right (don’t lift your finger) to change the text size? I can’t on my 16 Pro iOS 18.0.1
That is a 100% no. Also on the 18.0.1

Do you have a link for all of us to make a noise to Apple, this way there is no excuse why they didn't reach out to Apple, and to the right department.

Glad for you , now a milion dolar question?
And what if another one gave you same issues?
What then?
All same?
All same screen?

Mine is half fixed, like there is still a lag but not that bad

Like I said , now is around 7-8/10 , and before it was around 5/10.
But i would like it to be 10/10 for the price range

To replay to you.
Cant do that it stops at few points , right and left but it stops on 15 pro max as well.
What is your point?
The point is that touchscreen issues still aren't fixed. I can move the slider freely on 15 and 15 Pro both running iOS 17.5.1. They didn't change the way the slider moves as there's no reason to.

On what iOS version is the 15 Pro Max?

Make some noise :)
I will for sure! However, I don't think we should need to make some "noise" like if we're begging them to listen to us. Unresponsive screen is a big no for me and is one of the basic thing of the iPhone experience. If they consider all this fixed or normal, then yes we should make some noise for pressure. I know they can also never acknowledge and just brush it off if people don't complain enough.

My testing at the Apple Store yesterday almost makes me think certainly it is related to software. I was surprised. Or it's widespread and a huge number of iPhones have a defect. Will they ever fix this? That's why I'm going to return my 16 Pro, send a feedback of all the weird stuff, and wait until it's confirmed fixed to buy again.

My guess is that its software issue , that is my opinion. And I dont care about noise , or their aknowlogment , i just want issue fixed.
That is it.
Issue fixed , than I have a great device and that is all.

If the other gave me the same issues I would assume hardware damage as well….initially. It wasn’t a screen issue for me but my mobo was damaged and my screen was fine.

I can also say my iPhone box was damaged pretty bad so I do think that played into it

Just reporting in, my issue persists even after the 18.01 update. It may be a tiny bit better, but it’s hard to tell. I’m disappointed. Hope it’s not hardware.

Yeah removed my screen protector and the issue is noticeably better on my end, tried a new well reviewed screen protector from Amazon and the issue returned

For those hunting for a protector that works, you can cross these two off the list both had bad sensitivity issues
- Flolab (this one also had black bezel covering a small part of the visible screen, not great and apparently they have a new revision coming so wouldn't buy this at least until that happens)
- Ultraglass Crystal Armor (no bezel but sensitivity issue immediately back)

I'm thinking 18.0.1 must have band-aided the issue enough that without a protector its close to being not noticeable but I don't think I'm going to be able to use a screen protector unless they can patch it further

Submitted another bug report to Apple and messaged support just to make sure they have some paper trail that this isn't fixed

I believe any brand screen protector will cause issues. I have the belkin that Apple installed and it’s still has issues. I put my old Esr protector on a demo model and it had issues. Just to test the Esr protector, I put it on my daughters 13PM and it’s crazy sensitive. No problem whatsoever. So that leads me to believe that it’s a software or hardware issue.

At this point, we can say it’s not a glass protector issue. We’ve used these glass protectors on many generations of iPhones and suddenly on this generation an issue appears and the blame is shifted to the screen protector? That doesn’t make sense.

It’s a hardware or software issue. Hopefully a software issue that can be remedied quickly with 18.1.

Has anyone seen any other issues on the 18.1 betas?

Those hoping Apple will ever deal with this issue again are sadly too optimistic. Apple will never ever address this issue again. As far as they're concerned, the issue is resolved. I'm almost positive the issue is hardware related and they did some kind of software voodoo to mitigate the problem but that will only take you so far. I returned my 16 pro max, I'm not gambling with 1800 dollars. If you're gonna ask for that kind of money, the least you can do is not ship defective products and then blame screen protectors. I simply can not use a device as expensive as an iphone without a screen protector. My 14 pro max was dropped twice and the screen was saved twice thanks to a screen protector.
