Wait a minute. There has been one 18.1 RC and today we got the official 18.1 release with new build number. There is no second 18.1 RC, only an official release today??? Or have I missed anything? Is there a changelog somewhere of this 2nd RC?

Upgraded to 18.1. 10/10 touch responsiveness (like on 18.0.1). No difference. Belkin screen protector.
We'll find out after trying for some hours. Haven't used my phone after my message. So I hope to hear from more users.Wow!! Can anyone else confirm??
Do you simply text and see if some letters miss the tap? The problem you were experiencing before the Apple repair was that letters were often missing, or was it something else?
The keyboard or whatever it is, it's causing my words to be misspelled and making its own suggestion of words. This damn thing is haunted. I am hating this iPhone 16 PM. I know I have been forewarned about Beta and all the bad stuff that can happen, but I have been doing Beta's since the Pilgrims came over on the Mayflower, and I never had an issue until now.Just regular typing (quickly, not using swipe). When I had issues words were often misspelled and using backspace to delete was very laggy. It takes less than a second to feel if it is laggy or not.
How is it on the final version? Some early on. Not as much lately. Been a lot of Reddit posts and of course this huge thread on MR about itHas there been much press regarding this issue ?
I can’t decide if mine is good or not. I feel like the keyboard has a bit of lag but otherwise feels pretty good compared to the previous build of 18.1 and other versions of iOS 18. I’m still making a fair amount of typos but those are due to incorrect key presses, rather than missed keystrokes. It may just be my inpatient fast typing. I’ve had my 16 PM for a week and a half. Been going back and forth on whether I’m going to exchange it.
The past few days it definitely felt worse than my 13 Pro Max. However, it seems better with this update. The keyboard/autocorrect still lag thoughDid you come from an iPhone before 16PM? If yes, does it feel odd comparing to that phone? If yes, exchange. My current 16PM is faster and more responsive than any other phone I ever tried. The launch day 16PM felt like an Android or a very old iPhone. Very laggy and not normal.
FWIW, the new 18.1 release (the one that came out today) fixed my touch screen issues on the 16 Pro!Whoa! I installed the 18.1 RC last week, but didn’t realize until a few minutes ago that there was a new, additional 18.1 release to install, 359Mb for the 16 Pro.
Is it by the chinese did it on purpose so samsung wins lol
Unless you’re using a duvet for a screen protector there’s no need for any extra pressure for the phone to register your input.in the incoming iOs 18.1 do not mention anything about the touch in the changelog.
The screen protector makes a huge difference. You have to tap much more firmly compared to a bare screen.
In general, missed taps are, in my opinion, a software issue that gets amplified when combined with the screen protector.
I do not and have never used a screen protector on my iPhones. What’s IG?
FWIW, the new 18.1 release (the one that came out today) fixed my touch screen issues on the 16 Pro!
The 18.1 RC version from last week hadn’t fixed it, but this new version seems fantastic — no issues at all whatsoever anymore. Will report back tomorrow if any issues spring up, but so far, so good! 🤞
I spoke to Apple Support about the issue that sometimes my touch does not register and I have to repeat the touch 2 times (not often but sometimes) and they told me that it is not a problem Hardware![]()
So there is no missed touch on the keyboard?
ofc, for yours faulty macbooks pro keyboards were not hardware problems tooI spoke to Apple Support about the issue that sometimes my touch does not register and I have to repeat the touch 2 times (not often but sometimes) and they told me that it is not a problem Hardware
