Did you come from an iPhone before 16PM? If yes, does it feel odd comparing to that phone? If yes, exchange. My current 16PM is faster and more responsive than any other phone I ever tried. The launch day 16PM felt like an Android or a very old iPhone. Very laggy and not normal.
What was the process you used in order to convince them there was a problem and allow you to send the device in for service?

Hello
I changed my phone last day, for touch issue, first iPhone 16 pro max was july built, tre second is august.
So the last phone seems more reattive, but in some situation always in the angle up and down i must press two or three time.
Happens always with wapp and Instagram.
For exemple in wapp the x for close up on left side or same instagram in the same place!
I hope that is only app issue and there isn’t another touch issue!

I just said it is laggy comparing with my 15 Pro Max and they shipped me a box.

yes I have a 16pm I'm currently on the 18.1 update. NOT RC. My device is great touch wise except for the keyboard. 90% of the time the keyboard works great. When I try to type long paragraphs quickly it feels sluggish and misses a few touches here and there. I compared it to my iphone 15 and the 15 keyboard feels smoother and faster so I was thinking about sending my 16pm in to see if they could fix it like jajo did.

Mines been rock solid recently but today when i went to hit send on an iMessage it took like 10 trys. Sounds like software.

So there is no missed touch on the keyboard?
To be honest, I never really encountered (or noticed) a keyboard issue. What kept happening to me again and again was the “missed touch” sliding issue, where the phone wouldn’t register sliding motions from either the left or right edges at the bottom of the screen. This started right out of the box, and didn’t go away until I installed yesterday’s 18.1 release. After that, no problems!

So sorry about the keyboard issue though. It’s all so random :(

Maybe it’s just all in my head, but somehow I feel my 16PM overall is a bit smoother after the 18.1 update. Even the keyboard feels a bit more responsive. Not that I felt major lag before the update, but the keyboard just ‘feels’ better.

I don’t instagram. But I use AliExpress. I have touch issues on AliExpress only. 🤣

This is an issue that’s going on since 14.
When you are writing long paragraph the keyboard become very laggy.

It is something related to iOS not the iPhone model.

ok posso andare all'apple store a fare questo test? ok so I go to the apple store and ask to do the didplay test? What if it comes up that there is nothing?
I have an appointment for display / screen test in Genius bar. You let know.

I suggest you let it go. I went to the Genius Bar at a large Apple Store in Italy last Saturday to have a system diagnostic done because of a reboot issue.

Among the various tests, I saw a “touchscreen test” listed. Well, they ran it, and the test was simply sliding a finger over the screen to color blue squares. It’s a test that any screen test app can do (even Aida, if I remember correctly).

Something like that:

If you go, let us know if they perform a more in-depth test for you.

but my hope is that they change it or fix it somehow, considering I paid 1.3k€ for it in Dubai.

You who have already returned the phone to Apple... Did they test the display in the Apple store? Because I have an appointment in Genius Bar for the quality of the screen / display... What do you recommend?

The built-in tests showed that the display was working perfectly. It does not detect the lag issue.

I don't have lag, but I have that in random parts and at random I lose the registration of the touch. This happens to me 1 time in 10 touches

So what do I have to request? I can't make the return, my time has run out

Start a chat or phone call with Apple support and describe the issue and tell them that you are unable to take your phone to Apple Store. They will then ship you a box that will be used for the warranty repair.

For me (in a big town in Sweden) the process was very quick. It took 3 days to get the phone back fully repaired.

here where I am in Dubai the only solution is to go to the apple store, so do I have them do a display / screen test or do I tell them if they will replace my phone?

Since we don't seem to have the same issue it is hard to know how to handle your case.

If your display is missing every tenth tap it should be fairly simple to replicate the issue in the store. They should either replace or repair your device if you can replicate the issue in front of them.

Good luck!
