I got mine replaced but it’s another August build unfortunately. It‘s on 18.1 and still has the same misses along the edge of the screen with the keyboard and in Instagram stories tapping the ‘X’ for example as @MagneticResonance mentioned.
I’ll have to try again but getting a replacement outside of the return window isn’t easy.

I think that more or less they are all like that. Even mine occasionally miss some taps 🤷‍♂️

Sono tutti così 🙄

I think that also the screen protector play some role in this annoying behavior.

Thank u for your support.
my father have october built or september, it se s different, more reactive.

Battery where do you read also life of battery

August too.

Isee that my touch is missing some taps sometimes: I don’t remember if it happened with the iPhone 15 Pro Max as well.

Did the first one you changed have obvious issues?

You say the one you have now is more responsive… in what way? Mine doesn’t lag; it’s very smooth and snappy, but it does occasionally miss some taps. Is it possible that he uses it without a screen protector?

Apart from screen are you facing any other bugs like battery drain or heating issues as I am having second thoughts about updating to 18.1 so that it at least fixes other issues.

No. I have no issues with my phone right now.

Mine also have missed touches in the very edges. This is surely not a hardware fault but rather a consequence of having such thin bezels. It is a palm rejection algorithm causing this. Replacing will not help.

If this is a big issue I actually recommend downgrading to 15 Pro that has more bezel. Sad but I don't see how Apple can fix this without causing accidental touches/input instead...

This was my thought but I begrudge the idea of buying last year's phone as currently 15 PM brand new aren't much cheaper from any stores here in the UK, currently there's only the equivalent of $100 between this year and last models

There should be plenty of pre-owned units in excellent condition with a much lower price.

If the touch issue is a big annoyance then it might be worth it even if it is financially less sound though. Getting rid of frustration is worth a lot imho.

For everybody who's been affected, has it been a deal breaker or more of a minor annoyance would u say?

I have the same issue as yours and mine is a July build. The backspace is actually very disturbing, apart from that everything is manageable which it shouldn’t be when you are buying such an expensive device and in my country there is no return policy I can only replace it if there is a fault in the apple diagnostics which it didn’t show. So I am stuck.

Major annoyance but will be a deal breaker if they don’t fix it with a software update. One may not agree with me but the cost is not justified in the current situation.
I’m agree!
We are speaking of new iPhone! This isn’t accept for a new device!
The touch issue there is!

Anyone experiencing the issue needs to submit feedback via the feedback app. It’s quick to do. It says more than 10 recent similar reports and resolution is “open”.

I wish I can find a September or newer build to see if it’s software or hardware.

I experienced the same touch issues with the September build I had. I think it’s a hardware issue with the Pro Max phones.

If this turns out to be hardware related, that will have massive ramifications for apple

I have done it thrice but I guess a lot more people need to do it for them to look into it.

I'm suffering the same behaviour on a 16 Pro Max. Can someone point me to the feedback app? Maybe it is not available in my country :(.

I think a wiser approach would be to send some mail to macrumors and sites like 9to5mac and ask them to write about those problems. So far everything shows that Apple knows about the problems but is trying to hide/limit the impact. Like they just released their earnings for this year and they are happy, they really don't care and don't want to provide any support unless it will get very loud about those problems. For them it is much better to keep silent, sell all the products they want and eventually repair some for people who really want high quality. By accepting the problem they would have to exchange all the devices produces in faulty batches and that would mean huge losses and would be similar to Galaxy Notes explosive batteries
