I hear you , and I do get it.
My ohone hase faults , for sure , and 2000€ phone should have none lf those.
Correct.
But , only real solution is apple , contact apple , submit error reports , by far
After 1 month, I changed iPhone, after 20 days I saw that the second was better then first but didn’t was reactive as my 15 pro max, about 10days ago, with Apple care plus I changed my screen.
My problem is a few lose touch in app instagram, wapp, linkedin, often in the corner up right side and left

I installed a Best Buy brand screen protector, and while it looks fine, the sensitivity has gone to ****.
I think the thickness of these protectors also plays a role in how the sensitivity is. I am seeing something where the touch isn’t registered, but I can’t put my finger on it (pun intended).
Now I change protection, I use a idrogel protection

opening the amazon app the phone restarted.. now I don't know if it's a hardware or software problem
Edit: after rebooting the iPhone is slower than usual, touch is not very responsive. I am totally disappointed

I brought a certified Samsung Galaxy S22 and have been using that for a couple days and wow the sensitivity and the fluidness of that phone compared to my 16 Pro Max is quite apparent. The Samsung feels so much more smoother and the keyboard taps actually work.

My girlfriend has a Galaxy S22. It was more smooth than my "broken" 16 Pro Max but comparing to my good one, the Galaxy is not as snappy. So you most likely have a defective unit.

I also own a Pixel 9 Pro and same goes for that phone. It was smoother than my broken 16 Pro Max but comparing to my current unaffected unit the iPhone is way faster and has less touch lag.

Replace or send for repair.

ChatGPT’s opinion:

The reduced sensitivity with a screen protector is most likely a result of Apple's design trade-offs tied to thinner bezels and updated touch technology. While annoying, it's unlikely to be a defect, and future software refinements or hardware tweaks in later models could improve the situation. For now, exploring thinner, high-quality screen protectors or going without one are your best options.

It’s K, but I ask you: do u have sometimes lose touch?

16 Pro Max here. On 18.2 and 18.3 beta 1, I seem to have lesser to no issues with touchscreen and all my keyboard taps are getting registered correctly as my previous 15 Pro Max.

Asking chatGPT questions like this is about as helpful as asking some random dude at the grocery store. ChatGPT just regurgitates bits of nonsense that it’s picked up in training data. It has no real insight into this issue

Ok again me.
I have pro max 16 from day one
It works good , not great but very good.
I dont have missed touches anymore , but what i do have is huge refresh rate drop , and dysplay somehow becomes sutterying on some apps like redit and simular apps.
Other than that , phone works great
Please , guys , its enough about touch conspiracy theory...
Some builds work others not ....
Its stupid
I have this a couple of times a day where my screen feels stuttery and touch not as responsive. When this happens its very obvious when scrolling though a website. All I have to do is lock the phone and unlock and its normal again. it's annoying at times but I'm too lazy too swap the phone out and restore everything etc. Besides its so intermittent it will be hard to convince the Apple store to swap.
