To all you techy people, I have a some questions to ask. First, who is not having a issue with the touch screen? Second, what if any screen protector are you using? Ok, so what I am investigating is if some screen protectors are thicker than others, and who hasn't had any issues, and what brand they are using, and if there are others using that same brand and not having any issues as well.

I was just at the Apple Store and every demo 16 Pro and Pro Max had the issue. The employee’s phones did too. It’s just that bit of screen next to the camera control. It’s a problem for right-handed people who don’t have a case on their phone.
Really? That’s worse than I thought

I’ve used Esr and Ailun from Amazon, and my 16PM still has issues with both of them. So to rule out those protectors, I put on a spare 14PM protector and it still had the touch issue. My 14PM has no issues with that protector.

It has notting to do with screen protectors , otherwise they would not make them , would they

It has something to do with camera control , and screen in that area.
But here is another question , is there anyone who use this phone without case and dont have an issue , also , is there anyone that use case and still have issues?

I received my iPhone 16 pro max 512gb today I have put a zagg shield on it and seems ok so far.

My issue is across the whole phone. I do have a case

I remeber when s7 edge samsung was popular…..
That phone could not be held like other phones.
Plus , if you were sitting , and holding phone properly , it worked ok.
But if you would lay back , somehow you would press screen and there would be a lot of issues

I am sorry guys , but now its up to you.
Shake the internet with that story , record some videos , post them on youtube , on every social media.
Let the problem go viral , othervise , it will never be solved….

Apple silicone is minimal case , its hardly case at all , but it will raise the edges , so you wont be pressing screen.
How about you try it a bit without case and see if you have issue than?

I just spoke to Apple Senior Support; they indicated they have an ongoing case with engineering about the issue and that the current guidance is that it will be resolved with a software hotfix. They indicated to wait and report back if the issue persists after the forthcoming hotfix.
I contacted apple support as well. They told me to contact the screen protector company 😡.

And did they said when will that fix be avabile ota?

I feel like there are two issues with the touch screen going on here. I only experience the lack of touch sensitivity when a screen protector is on across the whole screen. My case preventing palm from coming in contact with the phone. With the screen protector off the phone works as it should.

Leave that screen protecor on , its not his fault

Hey!

I just got my 16 Pro Max yesterday and it is a great phone. But I am having serious issues with the touch sensitivity on the display. I am using a Belkin Screen Protector installed by the staff at Apple Store and I notice that the screen is sometimes unresponsive to touch. It is most apparent while typing on the keyboard or playing games that require lots of touch actions.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue? I consider removing the screen protector to see if it helps but I am not very keen on using a $1500 phone unprotected.

Hoping that it is a software issue and not hardware.

I have a keyboard issue on iPhone 11 and iPad 8Gen after the iOS18 update. I have never used a screen protector, so I don't think it is an issue with your phone or screen.
